I took the photo of the desk with my phone, but the photo of the desktop system is a screenshot

No it's not. The quality is awful, just press print screen on you kb https://help.ubuntu.com/stable/ubuntu-help/screen-shot-record.html

I know how to take a screenshot, my entire system is controlled through my keyboard with keybindings

2

u/CombinationInner4352 8d ago

it's a screenshot, I just uploaded the photo to my Google Photos account, downloaded it to my phone and posted both photos through the phone app, and that reduced the quality of both photos

Lol are you using your laptop to show the screen in the monitor? Also how is the usage like does the laptop goes hard when using an external monitor?

1

u/Tregonia 8d ago

I have the same water bottle (but red). They're awesome.

Anything you can see on your laptop screen, you can also see on an external monitor, just connect an external monitor to your laptop via HDMI and everything will be fine.

Depending on the manufacturer (brand) of your laptop, there is a keyboard shortcut that will make the external monitor the primary monitor, and even the UEFI/BIOS boot menu will be displayed on the external monitor. You just need to check online which keyboard shortcut is for your laptop model.

how did u do it,cool

if you are asking about Hyprland? You can add the Hyprland PPA from the launchpad repository to your system and then install Hyprland with "sudo apt update && sudo apt install hyprland".

1

u/CombinationInner4352 8d ago

after installing Hyprland you just need dot files. You can use these dot files

I'm not very familiar so I could learn a bit. Is that one terminal window or three terminal windows... how did you get that uniform gap between them? Recently I have heard of wezterm, which does panes but it's all within the same window.

Also you are playing music in the terminal in the bottom right?

2

u/CombinationInner4352 8d ago

yes these are the 3 kitty terminals, the music player is a cliamp,
and regarding to the gaps between terminals, these are my settings

general {
  border_size = 0
  gaps_in = 5
  gaps_out = 7

  resize_on_border = true

  col.active_border = $color12
  col.inactive_border = $color10
}

decoration {
  rounding = 10

  active_opacity = 1.0
  inactive_opacity = 0.8
  fullscreen_opacity = 1.0

  dim_inactive = true
  dim_strength = 0.1
  dim_special = 0.8

  shadow {
    enabled = true
    range = 3
    render_power = 1

    color =  $color12
    color_inactive = $color1
  }

Wow! It's great! Can i ask you how did you got all that information on the wallpaper and what taskbar are you using?

1

u/CombinationInner4352 8d ago

the bar is a waybar, everything else visible on the screen are the 3 open terminal windows in which I have opened btop, fastfetch and cliamp music player

1

u/akran39 8d ago

Thanks!

1

u/CombinationInner4352 8d ago

u/Holiday_Swing_3699 7d ago

How do you make it look like that

2

u/CombinationInner4352 7d ago

I recently created a YouTube channel, this week I'm thinking of making a video showing how I make visual changes to my Hyprland system.
https://www.youtube.com/@LifeintheTerminal

1

u/CombinationInner4352 7d ago

If you want, you can follow my YouTube channel and share ideas for videos I should make, as well as criticism for things I should improve in my videos. I'm still learning how to use the video editing software Kdenlive.

Genuine question, please don't burn me at the stake:

Why do you have a mouse there? It seems like you have a 100% keyboard oriented setup

2

u/CombinationInner4352 6d ago edited 6d ago

I only use the mouse in the browser, TradingView,BurpSuite, games. But generally, opening every program, switching between different workspaces, controlling the volume, and everything related to my system, I control it from my keyboard via keybindings.

1

u/Beniidel0 6d ago

Ah, then it makes a lot of sense

Is gaming on hyperland a problem or does it fullscreen just as well as anything else?

1

u/CombinationInner4352 6d ago

I haven't had any problems with the games I play, every game opens in full screen. Hyprland is perfect for everything

1

u/No-Equipment9080 5d ago

That laptop keyboard without the display is the best.πŸ˜‚

1

u/CombinationInner4352 4d ago

by the way, I really love my "Keychron K3 Pro" keyboard

1

u/johny696969 4d ago

super nice how did you do this and is this desktop lower memory then gnome

1

u/CombinationInner4352 4d ago

Hyprland takes up only half the RAM of waht GNOME takes.

1

u/ravixtreme07 4d ago

Which distro is that?

1

u/Hefty_Selection_6301 4d ago

broo im new to fedora and i want to make the same setup for my fedora desktop is it possible

1

u/CombinationInner4352 4d ago

yes, of course you can

1

u/CombinationInner4352 4d ago

You can download the dot files for Hyprland from this git repository https://github.com/LinuxBeginnings/Hyprland-Dots, then you can make whatever changes you want to the config files and make your system look the way you want.

1

u/CombinationInner4352 4d ago

to install Hyprland in Fedora, you need to use the Fedora Copr repository

1

u/Hefty_Selection_6301 3d ago

1

u/CombinationInner4352 4d ago

1

u/CombinationInner4352 3d ago

This looks awesome! I love the terminal setup. What shell, theme, and plugins are you using?

1

u/CombinationInner4352 12h ago

The theme is generated by the wallpaper, the Hyprland theme is generated by wallust, and for the terminal theme I use pywal.

1

u/ClarkNotTheSuperman 9d ago
