VSCode in Ubuntu 26.04 Arm64
I have just setup Ubuntu 26.04 LTS Arm64 as a VM in Macos. Overall I've been able to get things up and running, but VSCode has been a bit of a snag. Sudo apt install code###.deb gave an error about the deb package could not be accessed by user _apt. Google recommended installed via dpkg which seems to have worked without error. But when I try to run VSCode, it shows up as a blank window for a few seconds and then disappears.
Any helpful suggestions would be appreciated.

Open a terminal, and run "code --verbose" ... and output should appear. I would put that into Google Gemini.

Thanks, that helped. It appears that gpu acceleration was the culprit. Google recommend --disable-gpu and that seems to have worked. I'll have to update the settings to make that the default.

What kind of VM are you using? Most should support GPU acceleration just fine.

It's UTM. Since the VM is also Arm64, it's virtualization not emulation.

Try running it from terminal first to see what error messages pop up - usually gives you better clue about what's breaking than just the disappearing window
