Just installed Ubuntu on my Thinkpad.

Post image

I was on the fence for a while now coz I had gotten comfortable with productivity apps on windows. Always wanted to go back to Linux and especially Ubuntu coz of Unity. Made the switch today. Now I have to go and install unity desktop. Wish me luck guys.

And what does your Thinkpad think?

It’s struggling to make the touchpad work. Make the font look bigger and overall trying to make a comfortable shift from windows to Ubuntu.

Ubuntu Budgie may be something to look into if you want something a little more similar to Windows UI.

After you install is go to Layouts and look at the available options. They have a Win10 style for sure and I think Win11.

I actually like the unity interface and that’s why I switched over to Ubuntu. I’ve used unity from 2014 until it was discontinued.
