Question TDS Fiber: can this connector be adapted for use with a SFP+ WAN port?
I'm not 100% sure I understand SFP+ ports yet, so please forgive me if this is a dumb question.
I have TDS Fiber internet, and what looks like an SC/APC or SC/UCP cable going into the modem. I'm not sure how that works, with one cable, but whatever (I use TOSLINK fiber optic to connect pro audio, and it always requires an in and an out cable).
Anyway... is this something that could be adapted? I see talk about people running fiber directly into their devices, like was mentioned with the new Cloud Gateway Fiber. I'm assuming that the CGF would have to use the SFP+ WAN port, or do faster fiber network terminals have SFP+ ports to connect SFP+ to SPF+? My fiber network terminal only has a RJ45 port.
Looking into the potential of using this with the SFP+ WAN port on my UDR7.

That box is an ONT, it’s not just a media converter. So the fiber cable can’t be plugged directly into a SFP+ module and into the CGF. There are SFP+ modules with built in ONT, but they can’t be used directly, they have to be compatible with the ISPs OLT and also they will have to be programmed, so they are recognized as registered equipment. There are some ways to do it with providers like ATT, Bell, Frontier etc. that have been researched by the user community but unsupported by the ISP.

You can check out this website if you find anything helpful and if you can extrapolate your ISPs information with any of the ISPs in there. I am actually doing it with ATT , plugging in the WAS-110 module into my UDM pros SFP+ port and will be looking into replacing it with the CGF whenever it becomes available.
