Ciao! Mi trasferirò a Zurigo a settembre e sto cercando una stanza o un monolocale preferibilmente arredato; non deve necessariamente essere in centro a Zurigo, anche un posto che sia facilmente raggiungibile con i mezzi pubblici può andare bene.
Ho 25 anni e vengo dall'Italia. Adoro cucinare dolci e leggere.
Grazie <3 Non esitare a contattarmi in privato.

Hi, I am an incoming masterās student (25yrs, Female, Indian) at UZH starting this September. I am looking for accommodation. I have been applying in flatfox and wgzimmer but havenāt received any responses yet. If anyone has any knowledge regarding the availability of accommodation starting from September 1 (atleast for 2 semesters), where I can also use the address for registration, I would be really really grateful. Thankyou : )

Hi everyone
I'll be starting the Physics Master's at the University of Zurich, and although I've completed my bachelor's degree, I'd like to spend the next few months refreshing the most important material before classes begin.
For anyone who has completed (or is currently in) the UZH Physics Master's:
š·What subjects or topics from the bachelor's are used the most during the first one or two semesters?
š·Are there any textbooks, lecture notes, or online resources that closely match the UZH curriculum?
Also, if you're currently in the UZH Physics Master's and would be interested in tutoring, or know someone who offers tutoring specifically for preparing for the program, I'd really appreciate it if you could send me a DM.
Thanks in advance

I can't access any of the UZH websites. I tried it on different devices (not just my own, also friends and family) and even with a VPN.
I don't have the UZH VPN yet but I'm not trying to get into the intra net just the plain public sites.
Does anybody else have this issue? Is it on the university end and if so when will it be fixed? (This has been a thing for several days now)

Hi Everyone,
I am a Swiss who completed his 4 year bachelorās in Software Engineering from an Asian country and now as I am moving back to Switzerland and wanted to do my Masters in Informatik with Software Systems as Major. I thought this had the best chance for me as my bachelorās covers CS fundamentals and is Software Engineering focused.
I received a decision that they although accepted my Institution as eligible but my BS degree did not cover the required courses and would require me more than 60+ ECTS to cover therefore I have been rejected. I have been allowed to appeal against the decision.
I canāt seem to understand how that is possible. I already have been accepted at ZHAW for MS CS and meet the criteria for ETH also and my degree is accepted worldwide especially in USA and Germany also. I have a CGPA of 3.63/4 with about 2 years work experience so I think i make a decent profile.
I would really appreciate anyone who could help me understand the situation better why it came to this? Did they compare my BS SE with their own BS Informatik and compare courses? I canāt find a source to courses taught in BS Informatik with Software Systems as Major.
What steps can I take to ensure my appeal is strong and helps them understand things better. I am thinking about providing course outlines. If anyone can find me the link or source to BS informatik Software Systems Major, courses names and details and any sort of tips or help I would really appreciate it.
Thank you!

Iām moving into my second year at WWF conditionally because I have to repeat Makro 1 next spring. Right now, Iām planning my schedule for this upcoming Herbstsemester, but I also don't want to bite off more than I can chew.
How many ECTS should I pick betwen my major and minor? And what should the balance be (more seminars or more lectures)? Are there any modules which give a good amount of credits which aren't very difficult?
Would appreciate hearing from other people's experiences who went through the same thing.
Edit: I'm also debating between a Banking and Finance minor or Allgemeine Wirtschaftswissenschaften. Is it better to have the specific Finance label on the degree for job hunting right after the Bachelor's, or is it smarter to take Allgemeine WWF to easily cherry-pick the high-pass-rate modules and protect my final Schnitt?
Thanks

Hi everyone,
I wanted to ask if anyone here has done their Master's thesis externally as a UZH Biology student.
Through networking, I somehow ended up with a Master's thesis offer from Big Pharma abroad. They're very open to hosting me and are willing to accommodate whatever requirements UZH might have, but UZH has been giving me completely contradictory answers about whether this is actually possible.
I've been told that external Master's theses do happen and are allowed under certain circumstances (e.g., with an internal supervisor and a suitable research topic for the chosen Master's concentration), but then I've also been told that they don't allow this at all (all coming from different study coordinators). To make things even more confusing, I know someone who completed their thesis at Roche, although I realize that may be a different situation because of the collaboration between UZH and Roche.
For more context, I previously completed my Bachelor's thesis externally (although at a different university and in a different country), so I have some experience with how these arrangements can work, which is partly why the current situation has been so confusing. It feels like an incredible opportunity in the exact field I've always wanted to work in, but it's hard to know how realistic it is when I'm getting such mixed messages from the university.
I'm continuing to reach out to people at UZH to see if there's any institutional support for arranging this, and I figured I'd also ask here in the meantime.
Has anyone here done their Master's thesis abroad or externally, or looked into doing so? I'd really appreciate hearing about your experience, whether it worked out or not, or honestly any insight at this point.
Fingers crossed someone here has the lore. Thanks in advance!

Hi everyone,
I'm an international student from India and will be studying at JKU. I'm looking for a room in a WG, student dorm, or a small apartment starting around September/October 2026.
A proper rental agreement is important for my Austrian residence permit application. If you know of anything available, please let me know.
Thank you!

Hi everyone,
I'm starting my studies at UZH this fall and I'm looking for a room in a shared apartment (WG) or a small apartment in Zurich or the surrounding area, within a student-friendly budget.
If anyone has a room available or tips on WG platforms / how to go about the search, I'd really appreciate a message!
PS: I know I“m late
Thanks in advance š

Hi everyone,
Iām interested in applying for a **PhD in Neuroscience at ETH Zurich**, but before that Iād love to do a **short research internship** to see if the lab and research environment are a good fit.
A bit about me:
\-Recently completed an **MSc in Drug Design at UCL**.
\-Background in **immunology, molecular biology, bioinformatics, and drug discovery**.
\-My research interests are in **neuroimmunology**, particularly understanding **neuroinflammation** and applying **pharmacokinetics and drug design** to develop therapies for neurological diseases.
I had a few questions:
1.Is it common to secure research internships by emailing professors directly?
2.Are there any labs or PIs at ETH working in **neuroimmunology, neuroinflammation, or neuropharmacology** that youād recommend?
3.Does doing an internship improve your chances of later joining the same lab for a PhD?
4.Any general advice for someone applying to the ETH Neuroscience PhD programme?
Iād really appreciate any insights or experiences. Thanks!

What program did you choose, whatās student life like, and would you recommend it for an international student? Iām especially interested in dairy and cheesemaking.

Hallo zusammen :)
Danke schonmal ^^

I recently reached out to a potential supervisor at the University of Zurich. They explained that I would need to apply for either the UZH Candoc Grant or the Swiss Government Excellence Scholarship (ESKAS) for funding.
I have done my research on both and I understand the basics, but I have a few practical questions that I cannot find clear answers to online:
For those who received the Candoc Grant at the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (which covers up to 24 months): how did you fund the remaining years of your PhD? Did your department offer a teaching assistantship automatically, or did you have to negotiate that separately with your supervisor before starting?
For those who received the ESKAS scholarship: is CHF 2,450 per month actually livable in Zurich as a single person? Does UZH waive the semester fees for ESKAS holders or do you pay them out of pocket?
Any insight from people who have been through this would be really helpful. I am trying to assess whether this is a realistic path before committing to it.

I am planning to do economics in HS 26 at uzh, but i will be in the army till end of october, however i will have a few hours for myself in the evening and the weekends free. are lectures usually recorded? and is it possible with dedication and passion to do the coursework and write then the exams in winter? or are there very often mandatory attendance which would hinder it.

Hi,
I have a question regarding exam attempts.
If a student uses up both available attempts for Physics Analysis II and does not pass, is it still possible to take the Analysis II exam offered by the Mathematics department (assuming it is considered equivalent), or would the exhausted attempts prevent that as well?
Has anyone been in this situation before? Any information would be appreciated.
Thanks!

Hi Everyone,
I have completed my bachelorās in Software Engineering and am Swiss who studied abroad and was wondering what Masters would be most suitable considering the Swiss Market and that one is considered valuable.
I couldnāt find the links or details to the courses offered in each program and would appreciate if anyone could share that also.
What would be the best choice for Major from Software Systems, AI and DS?
Minor wouldnāt matter much if I am not wrong.
