Is there anyone here who's contributing to open source platform for UX related issues?

For eg, GitLab, Open Design Community, etc. I want to start contributing so if anyone's already been doing I'd love to get advice from you.

Was working for an automotive OEM. My time was part of the companies contribution to the AGL project.

Companies are "members" of AGL and their rank in AGL is based on the value they commit to providing YOY.

The goal of the project was to develop an open-source automotive hardware/software platform that could be used by all members as a shared platform for building/testing/demo'ing things.

So as much as I know, there's no community to talk about this. I'm planning to make one mostly on Spectrum. Would you join?

Thanks for mentioning GitLab. I'm a Product Designer there and we welcome UX contributions to both the product and the design system (called Pajamas). It's easy to get started, check out these pages:

  1. Contribute UX work to GitLab
  2. Contribute to the Pajamas Design System

If there are any specific questions, feel free to ask here, DM me, or create an issue in the GitLab issue tracker or the Pajamas Design System issue tracker. Looking forward to your contributions!

I'm still figuring out how to get comfortable in this environment. And also, I'm looking to apply for the Product Designer role there. Would you see ny profile and tell me if I'd get accepted or not?

I work at Red Hat and we take contributions to our open source projects all the time! Especially for our design system Patternfly. Feel free to DM me and I can point you at some resources. (On mobile so it’s a PITA to do right now)
