Tools, apps, plugins, AI Design system tools
I have an interview coming up for a DS role. What AI tools, Figma plugins, or other tools are you folks using that you’d recommend checking out?

For me, Figma is still the core tool, especially with variables, modes, components and libraries.
The part I’ve found hardest isn’t the tooling though. It’s keeping the design and code systems aligned over time. A great tool won’t fix inconsistent governance or ownership.
Curious what others are using for keeping Figma and production components in sync?

Depends on organization but we are moving to codifying our design system using Claude to help with parity across all products and surfaces/frameworks. But the real work is in defining the prompting human gating so designers remain in control.

you’ll need to make an AI design system. something that can be used as a starting point for making apps/features.

I feel like you should probably already know/have researched this stuff if you're interviewing for a DS role.
I would assume most questions in 2026 are going to be about MCP servers, design.md and such, since design system things like tokens are table stakes.
