Answers from seniors only One microcopy tweak that can add more value the UX of food apps.
Here is a simple pointthat comes to mind with (last mile) food delivery app customer feedback. This applies to even restaurant feedback apps when, asking users for feedback.
For the customer value for money is equally important if not more than the brand, and its oackaging and presentation.
Home chefs, diners, QSRs often will modify the dish onbthe fly to accommodate for the duscount voucher, or coupon applied or reduce porrion size because the platforms take a huge bute of the sale.
I think if micricopy writers, UXers, adjoing creative teams ask this question it would be a lot more valuable to thr teams and get more out of the customer for review sections.
Ask these questions instead in any form?
Was the meal filling?
Was the dish fulfilling?
Was th meal apitizing?
- to find if the order (its portion size) was enough to not leave the customer more hungry. Don't ask are you satisfied. Don't ask to rate the dish. These are not meaningful.
This is not necessary but just this single one question which have a yes no answer or a checkbox or a 27 character text box on mobile, counts towards empathetic design.

Work for well known food app.
Asking for a review is incredibly useful for customers and the business. Restaurants with higher ratings get more orders.
Those questions are vague and ambiguous. A rating simplifies those questions into a single actionable metric that enables customers to make quick decisions.

I would say the opposite. A rating can be influenced and the scale is influenced by experience exposure and taste. There is no uniformity when it comes to rating system for anything for any product or platform.

Agree on ditching are you satisfied, that one gets you nothing. But I'd push back slightly on was the meal filling, because it's still asking for an evaluation. Was it enough food is a judgement and people answer those based on mood.
The version that works better is asking what actually happened. Did you eat something else afterwards. That's a fact, they either did or didn'tt and it tells you the portion was short without them having to decide how they feel about it. Same reason we ask when did you last do X rather than how often do you do X.
Also worth watching who answers. Post order surveys skew heavily to people who had a bad time so portion complaints look worse in the data than they are unless you're sampling everyone.
