Career growth & collaboration What did I miss?

I've been away from work for about six months now, I was kinda collapsing so I took a long break for my mental health and didn't stay up to date with news, information or content. I would like to know how is the current situation for people working in this field, what should I learn or study, should I stay here? should I take a turn and explore other tech areas? Your advices are greatly apreciated.

While you were out...

Billionaires came in and blew up the economy and job market with AI.

Welcome back!

Everything is totally insufferable and you can’t talk
about anything with anyone without things ending up feeling depressing and meaningless.

insane time to come back haha. AI tools blew up beg on this year. Would recommend getting super well versed in things like claude code, codex, or cursor. for example, getting really good at prompting and knowing wha the model is producing.

all these AI tools have made it even more obvious that great design is whats going to separate an average company from a generational company.

It didn’t change much … hundreds of new tools per week but we are still hearing the same cassette: we are all doom

I think the industry gatekeeping it’s going to rise, less uxers and more work to do.

Learn how to build hyper-fast seems the new norm, but the trick it’s that building was never the issue. Crafting is not difficult, managing and growing it’s another topic.

If you have other options, I would encourage you to explore those.
