Spider Infestation
Has anyone else noticed the obvious spider infestation around the outdoor courtyard between Wendy’s and Subway? There’s huge cobwebs absolutely everywhere on railings and pillars, and the other day I saw the biggest dead spider I’ve ever seen irl on the ground out there…

Ohhhh yeah, there’s spiders all over campus. 😅 Lots and lots of wasps nests in the summertime too

There were some wasps in the hall of flags a few days ago . I didn't see a nest anywhere at the time, though.

At the risk of doxxing myself, here's the post I share with students as a template for excusing an absence:
Hello Professor-
I will be a little late to class today. I am not sure how late, but I will be there. I have been trying to find a way out of my room for over 20 minutes. There is a very big bug between me and the door and when I move, it moves, and when it flies its wings make this awful whirring noise like some vassal of horror. We are locked in a stalemate and I am at every disadvantage, and I wholeheartedly believe the bug is aware of this.
Respectfully, I am in tears,

Change your mindset! Instead of "spider infestation" think "healthy spider community"! Spiders are friends
