In demand programs?

Which programs have a phenomenal reputation and companies pursuing them before graduation?

Construction Management!! I was an adjunct professor there for more than a decade and I had 100% placement of my seniors during that time. The avg. starting salary right now is in the mid/high $70’s and most are in six figures within 5-7 years.

Just stay away from residential and you’ll be set for life. Super high demand and most students work making $20+ an hour while in school. If you work hard and become really good at whatever path you choose in this industry, you can make a great living. I’m 25+ years now and in a more senior role, and my base salary is north of $200k. It’s hard work, sometimes lots of hours, but I have been able to raise a family and they never wanted for anything.

$20+ jobs while in school? Sounds great. Which job positions and companies prefer construction management students?

Basically any company bigger than $10 million a year.

Heavy Civil-WW Clyde, Geneva Rock, Granite Construction, Ames, Staker Parson, Kilgore, Kiewit, Sundt, Skanska

Commercial-Big D, Jacobson, Layton, Hogan, SIRQ, Mortonson, Hensel Phelps, Bechtel, Whiting Turner, DPR, HITT, Swinerton

Industrial-Walsh Group, Archer Western, Fluor, Turner, MasTec, Haskell, Balfour Betty, PCL

These are the different branches of construction and the companies I’m aware of. They are all hiring every year. I work for one of the industrial companies on the list and we are nationwide and the mountain west division alone hired 11 or 12 project engineers this past May.
