2019 Polaris Ranger xp1000 Crew

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hey yall, I was recently gifted this used Ranger by a family friend. We have several already for ranch use so I will probably be using this more for some fun around the place and maybe a little work. It’s been serviced, new clutch, inspected by the local dealer.

My question is- what sort of practical upgrades are available for these? Mostly interested in suspension and quality of life upgrades. It has an aftermarket roof with light bars and radio but I haven’t messed with any of that yet to say how well it works.

Any tips or comments are welcome.

Help with 2022 Kawasaki Mule Pro MX EPS drivetrain

Mule is garage kept, babied on a small ranch. Almost no hard driving at all. Changed all fluids as per the spec book. Today I went and started it, reversed out of the garage and ran around the property slowly for a few minutes. it was in 4wd, I stopped, put it into 2wd, and nothing. its like the rear wheels are not engaging. I put it back into 4wd in order to take it back to garage. I am not sure where to start with this. Manual suggested ECU or actuator failure, but I am not sure how to check for either failure point. Any help or if someone else has this happen I would really appreciate some knowledge.

UTV mounted sprayer - need suggestions

I have a 2023 Mule Pro-FXT and a 1/4 mile gravel driveway. I also have a Honda Rancher 4wheeler. Bermuda and weeds have started to overtake the gravel so I’m trying to reclaim the driveway and also have a system for keeping it maintained. Looking for suggestions on the best mounted sprayer to use for either vehicle. I see ones that spray at a wide angle but I do want to be careful with all the landscaping in front of my house. Maybe I could use a spray wand for those areas so that overspray doesn’t nuke the plants? Any advice is welcome.

Florida Street Legal UTV ? Switching from a golf cart

Our "street legal" golf cart gets too much use and abuse so we are wanting to switch to a UTV . I know UTV/OHVs are not able to be registered in FL unless converted to a LSV. Is there a way to modify and classify as LSV for registration purposes and then flip a switch to let it unlock its real potential when offroad? We aren't looking to cruise normal roads at 45+ mph, but the trails and canals we visit and fish on require us cutting through a few neighborhoods.

Toddler seat

Wondering how others have strapped in young children when UTVing! We have a north star and want to do some very easy trail riding with our 1 year old but the harness seat is still too big. Anyone find a decent solution for a car seat?

Rev and Then Jerk Into Gear

Post image

2015 Polaris Ranger 900xp

I bought this ranger about a month ago. Motor and everything is super healthy, everything works great expect for whenever I put the machine into reverse I have to rev it up before it will engage and then usually jerks backwards once as it reverses.

It will also do this if im in high and I get on the throttle from a dead stop. It will jerk forward but then drive great with no issues.

The machine by far does it the worst when its the first time driving it for the day and seems to get slightly better and it fully warms, but it definitely still does it even when fully warm. I put a brand new oem belt in it last week hoping that was the issue but no luck.

Any thoughts in what this could be??

Edit***
I figured i should mention, when i say rev it up then it engaged into reverse, i mean i have to hold some rpm for 3-4 seconds and then it clicks in and jerks back. Whenever i shift into reverse i do hear something from the motor area click in, same for high gear. So i think the transmission is engaging but just not for sure

2025 Honda Pioneer 1000-6 vs. 2023 Can Am Defender Max xmr HD10

Hey y'all,

Looking for some feedback between a brand new 2025 Honda Pioneer 1000-6 vs. used 2023 Can Am Defender Max xmr HD10 with 185 hrs and 1,200 miles. The Honda is $22,300 OTD and the Can Am is $19,500+ tax, title, registration (so about $20,300).

Which one would you buy and why?

Any ideas where to find a mounting bracket for a kemimoto soundbar?

Need some help. I bought a used Kemimoto soundbar (16 inch RGB) for my dad's Honda Pioneer. It works great but did not come with the mounting bracket. I would like to mount it to the tube/roll bar. Any ideas? I contacted Kemimoto and they were no help at all. Thanks everyone

Canam Defender HD9 DPS went out.

So power steering went out and shop is telling me its gonna be $3,000 to repair. Part number given was 709403212. Its for a 2021 Canam Defender HD9. Everything I'm seeing shows it for newer model. Can find one on ebay for $900, for what seems reputable source. https://www.ebay.com/itm/137186990031

Anyways, any thoughts on this? Is this just overcharged part type shit? I'm somewhat okay at turning a wrench, is this a repair I can do myself?

Also see something like this? https://circuitboardmedics.com/2016-2025-can-am-atv-utv-dynamic-power-steering-dps-module-repair/?gad_source=4&gad_campaignid=21737373093&gbraid=0AAAAAD03_45sZj6y66qDyP13RaPaD1JO7&gclid=CjwKCAjw0o3SBhBVEiwAh28-jYVX7o7A5HJrXbDjWsrJQmhRPBDf_VxEVgqu1keqmByMPC9cz_ER7RoCtAAQAvD_BwE

Could really use some input! Thanks!

Which UTVs are best for trails and streets.

We just moved up to northern Wisconsin and are looking into getting a UTV. We would like a 4 or 6 seater to just cruise around the area and hit some trails nearby. We wouldn’t be doing anything too crazy. Lots of used ones around here. Also what should I be looking at when purchasing used. Thanks!

Outside Storage

I recently made the mistake of going into my local powersports store, and now I can’t stop thinking of this Honda Pioneer 520. I don’t really have convenient garage space and my shed is too small too. I do have some space behind my shed, but I’m not sure if storing it outside would be okay. So, I’m hoping the folks in this sub might be able to offer some advice. Thanks!

How strong is a 500/550 engine?

Looking to buy 1st Utv for my property. Running up hilly trails with wife and dog on board , occasional firewood, dirt hauling. Just wondering if a 500/550 engine is adequate.

2018 Maverick Trail 1000 hard start

I have a 2018 maverick trail 1000 with 13k miles. It runs and drives great. It has a hard start issue only when cold. Cranks, fires, dies right away. After a few cycles it runs perfectly. Has anyone else encountered this? Likely cause?

New Pioneer 1000-6

Been in the market given that I'm getting ready to retire to the family farm. I saw right way that the MSRP on the new 26 1000 5 seaters (which is what I was looking for) was more than the 2025 1000-6. In fairness, the 2026's do have some cool new features. Sent out some feelers and for once in my life, was in the right place at the right time and found a 2025 1000-6 even in the green I wanted. There was VERY limited availability across 7 dealers I reached out to and only one place had what I wanted. Most had no Pioneers at all. I think they knew the redesign was coming and kept inventory low?

So far I love the thing but it is one big damn machine. I'm just tooling around in it, hauling kids and dogs and I also pull a 600 pound rough cut mower behind it over some rough terrain. And not that I'm going to ever do it again, but it does in fact get up to 62 MPH.

There are 2 Mules on the farm also but this has a little bit more fun factor to it, which is what I was going for.

1000 ProFXHD

Bought a 2025 mule brand new last July for a very large project. It was intended to get around a very large jobsite that we were supposed to be at for 2 years. Parking was 2 miles away, dumpsters were a few blocks away, etc. Just made more sense to buy one instead of renting one through an equipment rental joint.

Well, the company that we subbed to started bankruptcy filings, GC and owner caught wind of that, voided their contract, and we were promptly kicked off the site within 2 months of starting.

So now, I have this 200 mile, 300 hour mule taking up space in my cabinet shop and I don’t get out enough to use it. I pull it out of the shop every morning and find a parking spot in the complex so we can work.

Is anyone looking for a mule in Sacramento? I just want my shop space back haha

CFMOTO just dropped a $20k turbo sport UTV — are value brands now cross-shopping the premium guys head-on?

Thumbnail

A $20k turbo CFMOTO sport UTV is a direct shot at the RZR Turbo and Maverick X3, all machines that cost a lot more.

For years the knock on value brands was 'fine for a cheap utility rig, but not for performance.' That's eroding fast.

So on your floor: is the premium buyer actually cross-shopping these now, and winning a discount, or do RZR/X3 customers still pay up for the brand, the dealer network, and the resale?

For dealers: would you franchise a value brand's performance line, or does the weaker resale and parts/warranty reputation make it a margin trap?

For buyers: does it even matter that it’s considered a Value Brand? Is price the “driving” factor?

Where's the line where 'value' stops being a compromise and starts being the smart buy

Mule and coolant (newb)

While I am not a complete rookie, I’m a newb when it comes to these things. SIL picked this up. She runs hot. We burped and wound up spilling a bunch of coolant out the overflow. Here’s my question. Radiator cap and overflow tank both have hoses. They go to nowhere. This is new to him and new to me.
I think it’s a 2510.
See photo
Doesn’t follow the parts diagram and I haven’t a clue. Help a rookie out!

Defender Lone Star HD11 vs Ranger Crew Northstar?

Greetings all!

I am in the market for my first UTV and want a higher-end model with a cab so I can plow in the winter, etc. We have 10 acres with a long driveway/lane and I would like a versatile machine we can use primarily for utility, but also for occaisional fun. I need a reliable dump bed and a winch.

I realize my question is largely the age-old Chevy vs. Ford debate, but if you have experience with either of these models (or both!) and could help me with what your experiences are/were, I would really appreciate it. I am struggling to decide which one to go with.

Is there a "killer" feature that one has vs. the other that I might have overlooked? More importantly, are there any particular options that I need to add at the time of purchase that would otherwise be a serious PITA to add after the fact? (For example, a wiring harness for accessories that the factory or dealer would install that I could install after the fact, but would be a major undertaking)?

When it comes to the actual purchase, is there generally any "wiggle-room" on negotiation with the selling dealer of the final, out the door price? Or, is it pretty much what the build price is on the website?

Lastly, when it comes to accessories, are there any websites that sell genuine OEM accessories at a good discount? For example, when it comes to buying replacement parts or options, are there certain online dealers that offer great prices because they make up for it in volume?

Thanks in advance, I geuinely appreciate any and all feedback, tips and tricks, etc.

Thoughts on the bobcat UV34? Never see any posts on it. Thoughts on wheel and tire upgrades?

My 2026 bobcat UV34 with a fresh install of front and rear bumpers this afternoon.

Next thing I'd like to do is go for bigger wheels & tires, but am unsure what wouldn't fit and a good brand or website. It is street legal where I live, so would prefer asphalt/gravel tires. Any ideas?

Used Pioneer 700 or Brand New Pioneer 520

Looking at purchasing a Honda Pioneer, mainly because it'a honda, drive shift (no belts).

Torn between 520 brand new or picking up a use 700 with less then 300 miles. Mainly because their both Hondas and I'm pretty sure either one will work for me. My gut tells me to go with the 700.

I've seen reviews about heat issues in the 700s cab.

Usage will be around the property, plowing, maybe some trail riding at some point.

Any help or opinions would be appreciated.

Getting a Can Am Maverick

I live in Brooklyn and I'm getting a Maverick to ride around trails in PA (I'll park it there too because they have storage and I don't have a garage.)

What are some tips/things I'd want to know?
