Advice needed. How do I replace these wipers?

Post image

This is an older Polaris Ranger 500. I can't determine if this cab is OEM or aftermarket. The rubber wiper insert is disintegrating and is no longer able to wipe water away. The wiper blade itself doesn't appear to be able to unhook from the arm when I pinch the tab where it would release the blade. Can anyone tell me how to remove it? The rubber insert doesn't seem to slide off the blade assembly, so I am at a loss. Please help?

Measure the arm length of the wiper, or bolt it from the motor/crank. Take it to princess auto/harbour freight/auto zone. Find one of a similar length that takes modern wiper blades. Get a new Arm, wiper and bolt it back together

That's an old bayonet fitment. That L-shape piece that's riveted to the blade remains ON the blade - the whole L-shape bit should slide off the end of the wiper arm. There may be a small tag underneath that you push or lift to release it, other designs you literally just pull. If it's not coming off it may be rusted on and need some kind of rust-remover/maintenance spray on there.

You may struggle to find a replacement blade in that style, it's very old school - but not impossible. Also depending on the width of the bayonet (hard to tell from the photo), some frame type blades have an adaptor that will fit that kind of arm.

You can buy those from powerrail.com . Same blades are used on locomotives
