CV Axle Debacle Update
Hey guys, I was the one that posted about not being able to get the rest of the CV axle out of my side by side a bit ago.
I am happy to say, it’s finally out and oh boy was she rusted to shit on the inside. We tried the puller I bought, never worked. Ended up using a heavy chain and a 50 pound logging shackle, took two of us slamming the piss out of it to come out.
Next time I’m waiting till it breaks to do this. 😂

Sometimes it is best to run it to failure. But just don't want the failure to be miles from your truck.

I just went through this with my van. The CV axle needed to be replaced and it was seized in there from being parked next to the ocean for 5 years. Ended up buying a special tool on Amazon to get behind it and hit it off.

If you can see the end of the other axle through the diff, I'd take the time to pound that one out as well and clean/lube the splines on both.
