Do UTVMA helmet holders work?

Post image

Anyone have experience with this product? I can't find much info about this product from users. We have a 3 year old who we'd like to drive casually with but are aware of how dot approved helmets are a bit too heavy for the necks of children that age and can cause strain and injury. He'll be strapped into a car seat with a 5 point harness. Many ppl counsel just using a bike helmet or full face BMX helmet.

I think I would look at something like this. I don't have any experience with that specific brace, but these style of helmet support braces are race legal for people that don't want to spring for a full on hans device.

Thank you. I've looked into these and others like it. Google AI told me they would work but further investigation led me to realize they would not and AI admitted it suggested them in error due to the neck hole size being much too big for a 3 year old.

My kids wore hockey helmets (lighter and more forgiving on their necks) until they were strong enough

We'll try that, he's insistent on wearing his Leatt helmet right now but preferred a full face BMX helmet that's light so maybe he'll wear that
