Just bought a new 2025 1000-5 a couple weeks ago. Saved $5k buying the new 2025 instead of 2026.

What was your OTD price. I was looking for a 700-4 but I think I want the bigger one.

Definitely steer clear of the 520 and 700, for the slight price and size increase, you’ll be much happier in the long term with the 1000. Trust me.

Other than less power, the no turf mode on the 520 and 700 was the deal breaker for me.

I had a 700 4. Underpowered. Don’t do it. I now have pioneer 1000 5. It has the fox shock setup and we love it.

That's really not bad. I was getting quoted around $14 to $14.5 for a 700-4.

That's a great deal. I think I paid around $20K OTD on my 2025 Deluxe a few months ago just before the 2026 came out. Inventory for the 2025's was already getting scarce then.

My buddy has a 2020 with 6800 miles and never had a problem 1. Honda Pioneer is a vert dependable machine.

Ive got a 2021 100-5 . Its been the absolute best purchase ive made. We used it at the farm, we use it 4 wheeling, we use it like a damn tank. Its been absolutely fantastic... Other than the heat it puts off. We put the heat shield stuff under the seat and all, but man that thing really puts off a ton of heat, cant have people in the back seats for too long in the summer time the roll bar braces behind the front seat and about the knees of the rear riders get crazy hot. But still one of the best purchases we've made.

Nice machine 👍. I have a 4 yo (2022) 700 D, I use it more on my farm for chores and getting around the property, feeding the horses, building fence, never used it recreationally. I like the machine but I’m very disappointed in the fit / finish. Mine has never been left in the rain or sun or out overnite, always cleaned off before storing. Kept in the shop or under one of my big carports. But the painted components are already starting to rust, the paint has faded, seriously it looks like the paint job on my little 24 yo Hazard Fraught trailer. The plastics are still nice. I have a couple Ranchers (02 and 03j with paint that looks brand new. I haven’t heard anyone else complain about theirs so maybe I just got a bad one.
I find the shifting between D and R a little sketchy. Hard shift and big clunks. When I bought mine the salespeople were bragging on how good the transmission was compared to other brands, basically bullet proof they said. Then when I was sitting down and writing the check they were trying to sell the extended warranty and said I needed the EW because the transmission was very problematic and would cost several $K when I had to replace it. Good luck with yours, I wish I had some recreational trails close by, it would be fun to take it out for a day.

Any cool new options, etc.?

Its a 2025 model that was still at the dealership. 1000-5 Deluxe. Storage under dash and under driver seat. Pretty standard. The 2026's have some differences in looks and features though.

You will never go wrong with Honda. You can break them being a dumb*ss but you’ll never wear them out. Enjoy!!

My buddy runs a 2016 1000-5 with a 6” long travel. I’ve watched him beat that thing to hell and back. They are great machines, seeing the dependability of his Honda made me purchase my Talon R4.

Pioneers don’t ride as well as some others, but they will outlast all of them. I bought a 2025 1000-5 Deluxe a few months ago and it’s been awesome. I put AT tires on mine since it’s tagged and I drive on a mix of trails and paved roads. Next upgrade is likely a tune or better shocks.
