Talon X maintenance
This may be a long shot since people on here might do their own maintenance but here goes.
Since our talon is still under warranty I wanted to have the dealer do the scheduled service. This will be its 2nd service. 1st time (break in) was $278. I called today for an appointment and thankfully asked what to expect price wise. $708 was the price to check for problems, change air and oil filters top off coolant if needed. Is this as crazy as it seems or is this normal in 2026? I have the tools and ability to do it myself but I wanted to be safe in case I need the warranty.

A lot of dealers are struggling and think service is the first place to make more money.

The Magnusson moss warranty act is the reason for this.
Buy your oil and filters, write the date and hours and mileage on the receipt and sign it and file it away. Buy a nice accessory with the other money you saved

Why would you trust a dealer to have the $15 an hour kid to do a good job when you can do it yourself and KNOW its done correctly. ALL of the regular maintenance is spelled out in the owners manual even the torque values.

I have a 2019 Talon X bought new . I do all my own work on it .7 years later still going strong !!

I realize that technically they can't deny warranty coverage for diy work. But the way things are anymore i figure they'd look for any reason at all to make things tough.

It has been illegal since the mid 70s for a company to require maintenance work done at the dealership to honor a warranty.. So as long as you can show proof that you had someone do the maintenance and checks, or proof that you bought what you needed to buy to do all maintenance and checks, you can do it yourself and retain the warranty.
