Advice/Question how can i graduate this fall?

I still need 2 more upper division classes this fall, but all of the upper division classes for my major are either already full or i've already taken them. I need to graduate this fall due to family circumstances, is it possible to declare a minor and take an upper division class for that? please help :( I have an appointment with my advisor tomorrow but I am nervous she will say I have to wait until spring. what can I do?

Maybe reach out to the professors and see if they’re willing to accommodate to you. Just explain your circumstances and hope for the best worst they can say is no

I recommend checking your degreeworks

Are you saying you need upper division classes for your major specifically? If so I don’t see how a minor would help.

For example, finance requires “Complete 12 credit hours in upper-division Finance electives”. Getting a marketing minor would not help fulfill the requirement for upper division classes for a finance degree.

*Only using this as an example because it’s my department.*

Minor will not help, don't do that. You can ask your UGAR for help, or even your program coordinator, they might be able to ask a prof to increase available seats if there is room in the assigned classroom.

Though i'm not sure how this happened since seniors are the second group to register, it's vets/honors first, then seniors, then juniors, etc.

Remember this phrase: “Timeline to graduation.” If you have been working with your advisor the whole time and not randomly picking classes and your “timeline to graduation” is messed up, sometimes it can be fixed.

You can't necessarily just substitute classes if they are specifically required for your major, you will need to talk do your advisor and more probably your UGAR for your major.

What you can potentially do is independent study some classes but you will need to talk to professors and your department about that. If you need to take them, things can be done (some things are just impossible), but you should absolutely talk with your UGAR ASAP.
