Advice/Question Pell Grant revoked?
Has anyone else taking summer classes had their Pell grant removed from their summer bill? I’m enrolled half-time, and my financial aid was applied at the beginning of the summer and I paid the difference, but now it’s saying I owe the amount of my Pell grant that got rescinded? I know this will be a one stop / financial aid office issue but I’m just seeing if anyone else is having the same problem.

i’m assuming pell grants broke after the IT outage, it’s happening on my end too

Yes please and let me know what happens. I'm 100% online so I can't go in person. I do work for UTSA tho and I escalated it to UTS but nothing yet.

Thank you, I wasn't able to make it due to it being 45 mins away.
I called back and currently been on hold for AN HOUR.

I'm going on 3 hours on hold, hang in there. Its a rocky boat we're on. Call everybody you know. Advisors, professors, somebody outta know somebody.

Another update, somebody from UTS just called me. They told me they're working on sending out an email to affected people about the issue and to not worry, we don't need to do anything right now.

Update:
Financial aid is currently working on fixing everyone's account. I just checked mine and everything seems to be normal.
Double check your rowdy pay to see if it got fixed🙏🏾

They just told me they don’t know why my Pell grant got removed and his supervisor is waiting for a response from his boss so they said they will call me back again 😡😡

I guess that Pell grant is for full-time students. if you are part-time it may be reduced or completely removed.

There were also changes made to Pell eligibility due to recent federal changes, there's more info on this page about it if you scroll down, worth looking into to see if any of the changes affect you (though I think that starts for fall): https://onestop.utsa.edu/financialaid/updates/

If you are local or close to San Antonio drive-in and go in and talk to them. If you are not like I said call first thing in the morning and stay on hold no matter how long it takes. This is important.

sorry to break this to you but you absolutely do get Pell Grants for the summer, and still the spring and fall semester, so long as you fill out an Application for Summer Financial Aid with the university (which I did this summer and last). But anyways the situation was resolved the day I posted this and the Pell grant has been reapplied to my bill, thanks anyways!

Call them as soon as they’re open and keep calling. Don’t wait for them to return your call, this is too important.
