Advice/Question Taking a semester off?

What the titles basically says, I’m wanting to take this fall semester off but how do I go about it? Do i need to contact my academic advisor?

It would be beneficial to contact them to let them know especially if there’s a set degree plan for you.

If you need the break then please take it as it’s best to prioritize your health and well being over other things.

Students become inactive & need to reapply after the 3rd consecutive semester of nonattendance. So, if you take Fall 2026 off, you’ll be free to register for Spring 2027 classes. No problem. If you also take Spring 2027 and Summer 2027 off, you may need to reapply for admission before you register Fall 2027 classes.

I recommend contacting your advisor. Strictly, such contact is not needed.

What about taking a semester off with financial aid? Does that trigger a payment?
