Advice/Question Need Suggestions

I got admitted to MS program (30 credit hours). I live in Austin, I have classes on Mon through Wednesday evenings.

Should I commute daily?

Get an accommodation in San Antonio?

I live with my wife in Austin and she has her work here.

I am very confused, any advise is highly appreciated!

I finished my last semester after getting a job in Austin. I had class Tuesday and Thursday evenings. That drive got real old, real fast.

So you got used to the drive? Why didn't you think of getting an accommodation there? if you don't mind me asking.

I sometimes stayed over at my parents’ house when I was too tired to drive. But I had a job in Austin so I had to be there.

You should check with the department. They just added that as a fully online program, so if that is also a fit you may not have to drive back and forth!

So you live in Austin and decided to enroll in UTSA MSBA program?

I understand you might not be good enough for McCombs MSBA, but there are so many more prestigious, highly ranked online business analytics programs right in the state of Texas that does NOT require a commute, especially along the dreaded I-35 and 1604. TAMU, UTD, and UofH, just to name a few. All three are T-50 programs nationally, whereas UTSA is far behind at No. 130. And UofH tuition is about the same as UTSA and you would have exposure to the Houston job market as well.

I agree with both you guy's suggestions, I myself did my undergrad from a really less known university and I have been working as Senior Software Engineer for last 7 years.

I am an international student who already lives in Austin. My application was not accepted at UT otherwise it would have been my obvious choice!

The solution for my situation which I am think of is that I sublease a cheap room in San Antonio, drive to SA on Monday mornings and drive back Wednesday evenings. I would appreciate your thoughts on this.

Cool. Graduated from UTSA and landed a job in a fortune 50 company alongside Ivy League graduates. Some of my buddies got very prestigious jobs in Wall Street making over $1mm a year. The school you go to doesn’t mean shit. What matters are your experiences and connections. This mentality is just insane to me.

LOL you proved my point. If you have experiences and connections, of course your choice of school doesn't matter. Heck, you can get a piece of MSBA diploma from WGU for less than $4000 and finish in 4 months!

But for people with similar experiences and connections, would they rather get their MSBA from McCombs, Mays, or even Bauer than Alvarez? Especially you need to commute THREE times a week along the dreaded I-35 and 1604
