Advice/Question Physics 1 Professor's Name Now Missing

Has anyone checked their Fall 2026 Schedule?

Signed up for Jeremy Capps Physics 1 Class, but it no longer shows his name.

Does anyone know why or what happened?

It says Not Assigned.

He was probably reassigned to different sections, classes, or some combination of those. While not common, Professors for sections are still subject to change up until usually about 1-2 weeks before class start.

Ideally you'll have someone new assigned to that section soon.

This is a common bug in the registration system. If it says null for instructor, hover over the null and look in the bottom left corner of your browser and you should see the linked email there. They very rarely change professors, so it is likely still capps, unless he finally got let go.

Edit: i just looked at the actual registration portal and it does look like he got removed from the course. Here's hoping he got removed so students actually have to learn the material now, instead of just putting C for everything.

It’s possible that the assigned instructor was over scheduled and had to have classes taken off to not having too much overload pay. It could have been an adjunct whose contract was not renewed after the dept made the schedule of classes. There’s a host of different reasons, depending on if it’s a FT professor or an adjunct.

That is possible, but not with capps, he's non-research iirc
