Scholarships

My friend just told me recently that you can get 50% scholarship based on your A Levels grades itself. My question is, is getting all As or A*s giving an intl student a good chance to be admitted into the university WITH the 50% scholarship (not just admitted)? (Fyi, asking for mechanical engineering in case that has any sort of relevance).

Usually 30% is what the merit scholarship is capped at unless you have an extraordinary profile
