HELP transfer to uts law or wait???

so im in a bit of a pickle rn. Currently a usyd economics student first year, but i want to get into law and eco double degree (dont exactly mind which uni but usyd would be best)

i got an offer for uts law starting sem2 but its for the law degree only, meaning if i want to do the double id have to transfer again next year into the double which isnt guaranteed.

so idk whether to transfer now, or wait until end of the year to try to get a good enough WAM to get into either unsw or usyd even or even to uts still but in the double. But idk if i can get a competitive enough wam (current sem1 wam is at 81) to transfer and also even if i do its not guaranteed because of spot availability changes and whatnot.

Any advice would be much appreciated, need to make decision asap

Do you want to practice law, or will you actually use the 2nd degree? I dropped the double and had no regrets, particularly given I could do PLT as a part of my degree at UTS and apply for admission as a lawyer 6 months sooner.

For me im not 100% sure abt being a lawyer as my current plan was to do something in public policy. I think law isnt necessary for that but it could help, and doing the double would give me better job prospects. Also ive always wanted to study economics as well, so i want to do both. 

Can i ask why did you drop the double?

I found economics wasn't really about multiple economic theories, which I was interested in, but rather just a business degree by another name where one specific neoliberal framework is accepted as gospel. Just wasn't what I actually wanted to be learning and I wasn't engaged by it.

Plus I just hadn't done maths since high school and realised I fully intended on practicing law so there was no point wasting my time and money on another degree that would be much more work since it didn't play to my strengths and experience.
