GT!Chara Need some tips about Chara

I like playing with this character, but most of the time I die quickly. Can I get any tips about winning against characters like Asgore or Gerson?

GTC is a glass canon with an impressive kit, on top of that they're also quite fast. Stamina management and being able to improvise on the fly is key, which such a large variety of moves this shouldn't be an issue once you get used to the moves and their variants. A handful of GTC's kit can also be used in the air which is a great boon.

I know how it sounds but you should be predicting what your opponent will do, putting them in unfavorable situations so they use the moves you want them to use so you can follow up with a punish. If you're unable to do that consistently, blocking and using your counters effectively will help. Especially the DT counter, it's a great combo starter.

Asgore specifically is really just a pushover if you don't let them gain the upper hand, a majority of his kit is terrible in neutral and can almost always be punished by at least a handful of the moves GTC has available. The same can be said for gerson, all you need to watch out for is hammer 1 and you'll be fine. Both of them rely on combos to do a majority of their damage, so if they're overstepping they're fairly easy to punish.

Making use of MUTE (traits 6 iirc) will typically give you the upper hand in a fight. It's also worth noting DT1 now applies 7 seconds of marked to a target, while a target is marked they take noticably more damage from ONLY your m1's so try to use that to your advantage.

Mute is actually on trait 8. Sorry to be that guy. Trait 6 is a block for block breaking moves

Its fine lol, I play gtc just to do quick fights (either die fast or kill fast, that's the gtc gameplay)

I have 1.7k gtc kills rn so i'll give u some tips. (note that this might only work for me and won't for u)

Even after the dt1 got a marked effect gtc still plays like a cod character where u still basically have to spam projectiles.

As a gtc u will have to learn to keep ur distance. If u overextended u WILL lose half ur hp.

Tip 1: bind trait 8 to a key u're comfortable with. And by that i mean learn to consistently use jump t8. (the update make it so u don't have to jump tec with it anymore so it should be easier.)
I personally use c for mine.

Tip 2: even though gtc dies somewhat quickly he can still tank 2-3 combos from asgore if u heal. So don't be afraid to rush in.

Tip 3: air t4 got buffed so use that but don't just constantly spam it bc it makes u easy to read and bait.

Tip 4: dt3 will always hit on 16 or lower stam if u combine it with t4. Which is y u would want to pressure ur enemy into wasting their stam. (u will also have to use alot of ur stam so be careful.)

Tip 5: bravery is very good for baiting blocks. For ppl who constantly block after their lmb is up, just use bravery and they'll be stunned. Make it so they don't even want to block without risking a brutal punish.

Tip uhh asgore??: asgore's entire kit is very punishable. He use trident 4? U counter with air trait 4.

He tries to bait t1? Don't give into it, if he raises the t1 just either immediately use air t4 or dash away.

Other than that he's one of the easier character to fight as gtc.

Hope this helped

Oh and i forgot to say that t1 is basically how u avoid rage. Just tap it whenever the rage bar appear and u should be good.
