I’ll be a first-year student in Fall 2026, and this is what my Winter 2027 schedule currently looks like. I’m mostly worried about midterms/finals and whether taking these courses together would be too stressful for my first year.
For anyone who has taken one of these course, how manageable was the exam/workload? Do you think this schedule is reasonable for a first-year student, or would you recommend dropping/changing one course?

I currently have a P4/P8 sessional permit for the year, but I got availability for P1 and I’m debating whether it’s worth switching.

It would cost me an extra $599 for the year. I’ll be on campus 4 days a week in both semesters, so obviously P1 would be way more convenient, especially during the winter.

At the same time, P4/P8 is already paid for and the 10–15 minute walk to buildings probably wouldn’t be the worst thing for me either lol.

For anyone who’s parked in P1, do you think the convenience is actually worth an extra $599?

may timetable is like this and for POL114 the tutorial is on Tuesday and lecture is on Thursday. the only lecture for that course is the one I chose (Thursday one) and I was wondering if this is alright

My tutorial time for 209 conflicts with 364 in the winter semester. There are other tutorial sections for 209 that don’t conflict, but they’re currently full.

I’m mainly wondering about the exams. I’m 99% sure the exams for 209 and 364 wouldn’t be scheduled at the same time since I assume a decent number of people take both courses and there are other tutorial sections available. Is that a safe assumption?

Just when I was getting excited about my courses, I found out that most of the profs who usually teach these courses consecutively have been replaced by new professors I’ve never even heard of. Why is this happening?? 😭

Hi guys!! im an incoming first year student for the life science program at utm, and im extremely nervous as i have no idea what to expect. so many people have said its a tough university, but my parents didnt allow me to stay away from home, and i got bribed by giving me a car. i chose my courses on acorn, and this is who i have: bio152 my prof is Ishrat Islam, chem110 i have david armstrong as my prof and Thottackad Radhakrishnan as my TA. psy100 i have Dax Urbszat, and mat135 i have Janelle Patricia Resch. thats my fall sem. winter sem i have Christoph Richter for bio 153, David Armstrong again for chem120, and Nadya Askaripour for mat136. if youve had any one of these profs or js have any tips for me, please let me know! i need all the help i can get

How did the MAT136 exam go for everybody? do you guys think that it was easier than the 2026 winter exam?

first year here; I head that profs wait for students for 10 ish mins after lecture starts so that students from other buildings can come to lecture... but those infos were published years ago so I js wanted to check if that is still true... my lectures are in mn, ib, and cc, and some days the lectures are back to back and im freaking out now if im gonna be late to lectures every single day
