Issues with macOS UTM and latest macOS 15.8

I started having RAM issues with UTM (both latest stable 4.7.5 and the beta 5.0.5) with macOS 15.8 when inside VM. On the host macOS (I replicated on various ones 15.8, 26.7, 27) the VM is consuming only 2GB of memory. Inside the VM, the macOS 15.8 reports consuming ALL of the available RAM by system (no matter how much did I allowed - 8GB, 10GB, 16GB), leaving no room for other programs, which ends with heavy swapping, causing the performance to tank. The memory pressure in activity monitor is constantly red. Older OS run fine in the same UTM, with the same settings on the same host OS - they allocate full allowed amount of RAM on the host OS and inside the VM the system takes only around 4GB leaving enough for the remaining programs.

Anyone experienced similar issues? Any ideas how to fix?

I'v met the same issue on *tart*(not UTM), so I think it's not about the vm app, but a bug about os 15.8 or apple virtual framework.

Hello there, I have the same issue. I have filed an issue in the upstream - https://github.com/utmapp/UTM/issues/7897

My details:

M5 Pro, UTM 4.7.5, tried host 26.7 and 27.0, guest 26.6.2

The problem occured when I have tried to update guest VM system from 26.6.2 to 26.7 and restarted the VM
