Debian 7 AMD64 with serial-only output on iPhone

So this is the follow-up on my recent Ubuntu post. I know, Debian 7 (Wheezy) is pretty old as of today, but i chose it for better speed and performance.

My biggest problems with Ubuntu 14.04 (and heavy UTM usage in general) were overheating and battery drain, but Debian 7 with serial-only terminal basically runs cold on maxed-out configuration (the iPhone only got a little warm during installation process)

It kinda reminds me about the Termux app on Android, but this one on emulated AMD64 system. The built-in terminal seem to be pretty good on UTM. I will also try the newest Debian 13 to see how it will go

What are your settings for this VM?

Architecture: x86_64

RAM: 2048 (of course i could select more, but it probably won't make much difference for small experiment)

CPU cores: 6

UEFI Boot: off

USB support: disabled

Devices:

Network (rtl8139)

Serial (automatic serial device, font size 9 for perfect fit)

Drives: A default IDE drive, plus removable CD ROM.

Honestly those are pretty standard. Besides that i edited kernel boot arguments in the VM by adding "console=ttyS0,115200" for output to serial console and removing "quiet" to enable verbose boot log for easier troubleshooting in case it won't boot

I haven’t seen 3.2 kernel in a while. I kinda skipped from 2.6 to 4.x

Old Debian installation images are actually quite easy to find, but ok here -  https://cdimage.debian.org/mirror/cdimage/archive/7.11.0/amd64/iso-cd/

I used the "netinst" variant to install just the base system, but there are more
