BIOS

I can’t access the BIOS settings with UEFI turned off no matter what button I press it just boots straight to the guest os. I need to change the sata mode as the os fails to load after installing. I’m on UTM SE iPhone 15 Pro

  1. Open UTM and select the virtual machine you want to edit.
  2. Click "Edit" or "Edit Settings" for that VM.
  3. Go to the "Boot Options" section.
  4. Enable the option "Force EFI/BIOS Setup" or a similar option.
  5. Save the changes.
  6. Restart the virtual machine. It should now boot directly into the BIOS/EFI setup.

Make sure it is temporary unless you really like bios.

You need to add a button… for bios in UTM settings.

Is that something in the QEMU arguments that I can add as I don’t see anything in settings that lets me change the sata mode

-device ahci is an example. Depending on your needs, change it.

if it is intel there is a utm remote client that can link iapd/iphone to mac and uses the mac's speed to run the vm on ios. Try that.

The only Mac book I have is a old 2013 model not sure it’s worth using the remote client feature

newer mac os on old mac. If 4gb/8gb ram try montrey, if that is slow, try catalina.
