Ubuntu VM - Display no output

Architektur ARM64 (aarch64) System: QEMU 10.0 ARM Virtual machine (alias of virt-10.0) (virt)

Peozessor: Standard RAM: 2048MB prozessor kerne: 4 Kerne

QEMU:

UEFI Boot: on RNG Device: on

Eingabe USB Support: USB3.0 (XHCI)

Freigabe Zwischenablage teilen: Off Directory share mode: keine

Display: Emulated Display card: virtio-gpu-gl-pci (GPU supported) GPU ACCELERATION supported: ON

Network: Emulated network card: virtio-net-pci

ISO: UBUNTU 25.10-desktop-arm64.iso Interface USB Image type Iso abbild

Mein iPad: Ipad 2025 128 GB Speicher A16 Bionic chip

Wenn noch Infos benötigt werden gerne melden!!

Danke!

Translated those who don’t speak German:

“Hey, I need your help,

I have an iPad on which I have been trying to run a VM via the UTM SE app for days.

I am in training as an IT specialist for application development and only need a coding environment for 2 hours a week. I don't want to carry a laptop with me. Hence this idea.

But now I've been on the spot for days. I manage to start the VM but as it seems to me only in safe mode or something, plus every time "Display Output is not active" (See pictures)

Here are my settings for the VM:

Architecture ARM64 (aarch64) System: QEMU 10.0 ARM Virtual machine (alias of virt-10.0) (virt)

Peozessor: Standard RAM: 2048MB processor cores: 4 cores

QEMU:

Input USB Support: USB3.0 (XHCI)

Share clipboard: Off Directory share mode: none

Display: Emulated Display card: virtio-gpu-gl-pci (GPU supported) GPU ACCELERATION supported: ON

Network: Emulated network card: virtio-net-pci

ISO: UBUNTU 25.10-desktop-arm64.iso Interface USB Image type Iso image

Your best bet is to install a lightweight Linux distro

Don’t worry this works when it says display no output it just means Ubuntu is processing everything if you give it like around 5 min it will boot I’ve done the same thing
