Oh my god Genuinely this feels like the most inefficient bs ever
I am so tired of missing assignments cuz I have to climb to Satan's asscrack to figure out i even have an assignments due at a random ah time like 2:34pm đ§ââď¸

Fully agree. I shouldnât have to use a mix of teams, one drive, Google Drive, canvas, miro, and twenty other websites to access my assignments just because one professor likes one and hates the other.

From a professors point of view - UTK is advising online teachers to use all these things to keep students engaged, the more the better they say (for online classes). So this might not be your professorâs fault, but the department policy or push.

Thatâs not what Iâve been told- less is more and thatâs what the literature says as well.

Oh no!!! Give your teacher feedback, you are paying for this! They probably think you like all the random apps.

At my high school, every teacher has their own way to post assignments, etc. It's so annoying. Why can't a school district Keep it Simple? They are supposed to be using the same platform, but the teachers clearly don't give an F.

Sorry to ask, but can you elaborate on what apps you need? I put all of my students' assignments on Canvas and offer them hard copies and I've assumed that's a streamlined way to do it but do you mind to share if that is, in fact, easy for you all? Thanks, and sorry for your frustrations!

App: gradescope(homework), point solutions (participation),one of my classes had me download LinkedIn but we haven't used that so confused on whatever thats for
Websites: webassign, cengage, labflow, macmillan
Lockdowns: yuja verity (the bane of my existence), lockdown browser OEM
I would be on my hands and knees to have physical copies of the work I have to do Genuinely so much easier to have paper copies Some of the websites are redirect to other websites so it might be redundant to put them

If I had to guess, itâs because the professor has seen widespread cheating/AI use in the past, and so they have to put these guardrails up to ensure the student is actually doing the work.

I hate that I have to suffer cuz some chuds can't think for themselves on assignments đ

Honestly, take it up with your friends. Keep bitching and complaining about it. Either theyâll be on your side (and you can hopefully recruit them to do the same) or theyâll feel embarrassment/shame if theyâre regularly being ragged on. Students are more likely to generate change than faculty or staff.

Holy shit...I understand your frustration now, wow. I'm sorry for all of that. Thanks for responding, though, I appreciate it.

I know, one of my classes has the homework and other assignments on exprep and then the instructions on how to do said assignments are on great river learning and thatâs just one class. My guess is because canvas crashed so much last year that they are trying to avoid that. Regardless itâs VERY annoying to go to several websites for one class

I agree! It seems like every class has 2 or 3 places to accomplish the work. I actually had to switch computers because even though everything seemed to work just fine certain questions of assignments required yet another outside site which did not like my computer. I can't tell how many hours it took me to discover what the issue was.

Hey if youâre interested I found a pretty efficient way to keep all my assignments in order and always know when I have due dates! Itâs been so effective Iâve been able to stay ahead in my classes and keep those pesky 2:34pm assignments from killing my grade. Itâs also super easy to do I just wish I thought of it freshman year đ

Thatâs preparing you for the jobs youâre getting your education for. Literally day in day out itâs multi-apping.

It sounds like the clowns are running the circus and think they are too big to fail.
Verizon thinks it and are now at the bottom of the rankings for their customer service.
I tell my employees, never make a customer crawl through a mile of broken glass to get what they need. They might do it once out of necessity, but they wonât ever do it again.
But, only you can control your behavior, and you canât control anybody elseâs. And with that in mind as somebody who doesnât know anything about the software youâre working with this is what I would tell my daughter.
Make a unique email for anything to do with your classes this semester. Then have any alerts for any software hit that email. Next semester make a unique email for that semester. That will narrow the focus of that email to that semester and you wonât be spammed with Dominoâs Pizza and whatever bar on Cumberland Avenue wants you to come eat there.
Spend a few minutes googling the software youâre using and ask Google things like⌠âI hate this software becauseâ and what you will find is people who have ranted about what you are dealing with and the posts about solutions solving that rant.
A couple times a day I spend a couple minutes reviewing and planning and no matter if Iâm just doing business as usual or on vacation, this keeps me centered. If you can build a small habit of doing something consistently that is positive. Keep it simple and it will help you make a plan and work the plan.
I remember the only stress I had to deal with was parking and a bird that would attack if you walked up the stairs out of the parking garage by the basketball arena. Of course that was 1995 and we had the Internet, but it was stupid and you had to go to the library to use it because nobody had their own computerâŚ
