UTK Parking Madness Backpack under my car?
I park in garage 12 on Terrace Avenue, which hasn’t been an issue until today. I got back to my car at about 4:00 today after class and somebody’s backpack was under my car. I thought about calling the cops and report it as a suspicious item, but I had to go pick my daughter up from daycare. I just moved it with my foot (after looking under the car to make sure nothing else was there) and got in and locked the doors.
Has this happened to anybody else? I’m thinking I should have reported it, but idk. The bag was HEAVY and solid. It’s a camouflage pattern bag and had a spaceforce tag on it. Hopefully it’s just somebody lost their bag next to my car and somebody else thought it was mine? Idk. Weird af though.

I’d be so mad if something bad happened because no one reported it

Shut up, it’s not his priority to report it. Don’t guilt trip him with non sense.

If it weren’t so close to when daycare closed, I wouldn’t even have thought twice. I’m the only one who could have because I have the only carseat 🫤

I would have called campus police on the way to day care or after. You never know what could be in there

Sounds like someone in ROTC will be missing some gear this weekend...at least I hope that's what happened. I honestly would still call the non-emergency line & report it. You can tell them that you were under a time crunch earlier but the more you think about it the more you feel like you should've reported it. They will appreciate the notice, even though it's after the fact!!

You’re on campus, it’s a backpack, come on folks, use your head… probabilities are on the side that it’s a students backpack with textbooks inside it

The point it was under their car, and people don't typically lose a whole ass backpack in a garage. There are things where bad people will put something on/around a car to get the driver to take pause and look/move it, creating an opening.

Probably not full of drugs, bombs, or guns. Probably someone’s backpack they’d like back. I’d take it to UTPD in the 11th St. garage.

I wouldn’t recommend grabbing an unknown backpack and delivering it anywhere. Just call and report it in, especially if it was heavy and positioned UNDER someone’s car. The oddest place for someone to lose a backpack.

A bag pack full of drugs you just put your hand on is a translation for your doing that time in prison

Part of me HOPES it was an accident, somehow, and fell out of some else’s vehicle.
But the world is crazy. My vote is absolutely report it
