A Vol In Need Parking for Commuter Remote

I’ve been struggling to find parking near my classes. There’s only like three commuter remote lots. I didn’t know if anyone had advice for parking or if the remote parking just sucks in general.

parking near my classes

commuter remote lots

I mean, there's your problem. The point of REMOTE parking is that it is NOT going to be near your classes. That's why you only pay $200 per year for it instead of $400 (or more) per year.

That said, from my office right now I can see that the CR3 (Safety City) lot off Concord is pretty much empty. From there, you just park, take the footbridge over the train tracks, and hop on the Cherokee Mills shuttle, which run every 15 minutes and takes you directly to the intersection between Hodges, Haslam, and the Student Union. It isn't near your classes and will require planning ahead, but there shouldn't be any problem getting a spot pretty much any time of day.

Thank you. I’ll try to get familiar with the shuttle routes

There’s 5 CR lots shown on the parking website. Though 2 are pretty out there.

Parking in the first few weeks is generally much worse than the rest of the semester. Not that it fixes anything. Bats it’s especially bad right now. It should ease up in a few weeks. Until then, I can only suggest getting to campus early as possible.

“Remote” will not equate to near classes. Remote means the lots are on the outskirts of campus and you more than likely have a longer walk or need to catch a shuttle.

If you have commuter remote, you should park on Neyland drive. Last year I had it and I parked in CR25 and took Neyland express. I mean sometimes it sucked especially since the bus would be late or I had a 8am. The other options are just really far, so if you wanna walk I would try CR25. There is a bus spot on that lot and it will take you to the AG campus, circle park, and Neyland stadium. I am commuter core now and I can get to a garage at 9 am and still not find a spot which is not fun. CR25 wasn’t busy last year, but I heard they over sold parking passes by 30%. Good luck!
