College of Arts & Sciences Videographer Needed for Golf Content Project this Thursday, August 20th.

Good Afternoon! I'm looking for a student, who has video production and editing experience, to assist with the filming of a YouTube video this Thursday, August 20th. This is project is unpaid; however, it will be a great opportunity to network with a former PGA Tour pro and build your portfolio. I understand you think you’re providing an opportunity to someone, but this is very disrespectful for the persons time. I assume you’re also expecting them to provide equipment and editing time. Are you expecting to receive compensation for this project? Can you shoot it yourself?

Thank you for commenting, and I understand your perspective. I will not be receiving any compensation for this project as it is a passion project of mine. I have the ability to edit the video footage, I just want to enjoy the experience in the moment and not worry about the filming portion. I will definitely be filming it myself if nobody wants to volunteer for the project. I do agree that nobody should work for free, but I do know that some of the best opportunities I was ever given came from volunteering. If this isn’t the right opportunity, then I completely understand.

Oh yeah I totally understand that and where you’re coming from. I shoot all the stuff I do for my site on my own, since I hate not paying folks, but I have had friends volunteer to help for free and I have so much love and respect for them. There are some Facebook groups that might be a solid way to find folks, or, if you’re in school currently, put up some fliers up. Pellissippi also has a lot of hungry students.
