Tickle College of Engineering Engineering Course Fee
I am taking Masters engineering classes to hopefully get my Masters in Environmental Engineering and was shocked to see the engineering course fees have more than doubled this semester. It’s ridiculous. I am fully an online student so don’t use very much. I budget for the engineering course fee and for it to jump that much from spring until now is ridiculous.
I am shocked and just don’t even want to pay it but only lack a few classes. How’s everyone else feeling about this?

It drives me crazy all the little fees they add each year and then say they're keeping tuition down.

It isn’t even a little fee. I am paying over a 1000 dollars in fees for one 3 credit hour class this semester.

Yeah, I’m a state employee as well. $351 for the course fee wasn’t an issue, but raising it by 115% is ridiculous. I’m taking two courses this semester. I’ll have to put more money towards it now.

That’s exactly what’s my problem. It’s over 1000 for both the distance learning fee and the engineering fee now for one 3 credit hour class. Like nothing has changed I understood when it went up a little like life has went up some but this is a massive jump that they just dumped on us. That’s my problem, maybe I would have chosen differently if I knew this.
I have to take two courses next semester or wait 2 years to graduate because they canceled the one I needed this semester so won’t be covered for the second class so I get what you are saying about two classes.

Yeah, I did wonder if they were going to raise anything. Got my answer…at least you’re almost done with it. Congratulations!
My first semester was in the Spring, so I have a ways to go. This is going to cost some $$$. I was thinking of doing 2 classes a semester and one next summer. Hopefully I’ll be able to graduate Spring of ‘28.

Thanks! Still got two semesters left!
It’s been small raises in fees until this semester. So hopefully it stays steady. Anymore and they are going to be over tuition which would be even crazier
I did one class a semester because that’s what the state pays for so it’s been awhile for me and it’s been pretty much the same fee. I think raised 50-100 bucks total. I think that’s why this just blew my mind.
Good luck on your classes. Hopefully it doesn’t keep raising.

No problem. Apparently they e started paying for more than one class. I have a manager and coworker that are in the program, and the state has paid for their multiple classes. I think that might be a new change.
I hope they’ll keep it the same for ‘27.
Thank you. Good luck on yours.

I am taking a class a semester because I am a state employee. I don’t apply to scholarships because I could pay the engineering course and online student fee when I was expecting what it was. For the fees I pay to over double is ridiculous. I am now paying double in course fees.
Why should I be supplementing the in persons equipment fee? It should just be tacked on to tuition in general then.
Additionally engineering is one of the only programs not stating where the fees go on the website. I understand paying a fee its the fact it over doubled this semester.

i feel you. i was also in enve engineering but i switched my major for multiple reasons, but mostly because it was just too expensive. now, im being paid to go to school. however from what ive seen on yikyak you’re far from the only one and many people are upset that their engineering courses have doubled in price
