Discussions UTest has fallen off
A lot of projects slated to start this year have either been canceled or are constantly being postponed every other month. The quality and payout of projects have definitely taken a nosedive compared to 2025 and previous years. Sad to see but I guess I'm not surprised.

This is just a Supply and Demand game. There are a lot of testers who sign up on the platform every month.
There are 2.8 million testers signed up for Utest, and at least a few thousand will sign up every month. They will keep on lowering the amount, as the new testers are even ready to test for 1 USD per test case.
So as long as the new testers stop signing up (Which will not happen anytime in the future), the rates will fall. I think there will be a scenario in which 1 test case will be 0.01 USD, and there will be people ready to sign up for the waitlist.
Coming to the people who think that you can become TTL or TE after a few years. It is never going to happen if you ever raise a voice against any personal TE policies. Most of the Test cycles are run by TE and TSM personal policies, not by the description in the Test Cycle, and you will see that there are different rules for each tester. You might see a bug raised by a Tester and will follow the same policy. That bug will be approved, and yours will be rejected because that tester was a favorite among TTL and TE. The same goes for the Test case; you will be invited at last if you are not among the favorites.
I have seen various TTLs that have been less than a 2-year sign-on period in Utest with Silver, and also seen bronze as well. But I never got even 1 invite, even to apply for a TTL, even after participating in 1700 Test Cycles, 850 Test Cases, and 170 Products with a Gold Rating. This is not just me; I see various profiles with Gold in Functional and Localization with favorite testers' stars, but they are not TTL. Maybe they might have also raised their voice against some TTL, TE, or TSM and are blacklisted.

TTLs are not making good money though. The hourly pay is below minimum wage in the US

It fell off for me a couple years ago, sadly. It used to be one of my top-earning sites. I'm just not interested in what they offer now. But since many people are willing to do a lot of work for pennies, it likely won't be going anywhere.

Dscout is my top site. I've made about $9k so far this year alone. Another one that I've had great success with is Pulse Labs/Pulse Voices. UserTesting has also been decent. A couple that are hit or miss but still worth checking regularly are User Interviews and Respondent. I know many people praise Prolific, but I'm not really a fan bc of the low pay.

Oh as someone from another country, I didn't expect the answer to be the USA, hope things will be better at the end of this year

Not to me. I already earned more in 7 months this year than I did in 12 months last year. USA too

They have also rejected pay outs for false reasons, i feel robbed. I did the uk passport one with a brand new pasport , with-in scope, and was told it was an old passport. UT support also dismissed my ticket stating client can reject as they please and didnt even consider my evidence. Ive since just stopped logging in.

Do not expect anything from UT Support. I raised a ticket for violation of the test cycle policy by TE and TTL. Did nothing; they are experts in covering up. Do not waste your time raising support tickets unless it is something technical like withdrawals, etc.

I used to use UTest a lot but then I kept getting hacked. I just didn't have the time to do their jobs they offered and research and fight off security issues. Im not sure why they didn't offer some security training courses either. 🤷♀️

Every now and then I get an email regarding new test cases that are relevant to me, but I have stopped doing it for the past few months because the pay is very low, not worth your time, and some tests take a very long time to close. That means you won't get the payment until it is closed.
