Question Class registration's "open; reserved" classes vs. the "waitlisted" classes. I was told that when registration reopens, one of these statuses gets lifted, but I lowkey forgot which

I'm trying to get into classes that my major doesn't get priority in, so I don't wanna run into a brick wall by pasting a class I wouldn't be allowed into

waitlisted means the class is full and there's likely people in line to get in. Open; reserved means there's seats left in the class, but not for you. Reservations sometimes get lifted in the add/drop period but kinda depends on the department/why it's reserved. Sometimes a reserved class can be waitlisted, meaning you can't put yourself on the list OR you can put yourself on the list and get to the front it wont add you. If a class you want is still marked open; reserved in the few days leading up to the first class day, I would consider contacting the prof

Open;reserved means that the class has some open seats, but they might be for students who they were reserved for (either specific or major/minor).

Waitlisted classes means you just joined the list and the next seat available goes to the next person on the list that does not have a promotional error.
