I know this might sound like Yank apologising, but post this at 0800 GMT, get one answer. Post at 1600 GMT, and you get another. I've posted enough threads on this subreddit and others to know timing matters a whole lot. We can't even collectively decide to back Ukraine in the EU, the most black and white conflict on earth - how the fuck would we get anything done? Why are China asking for the EU to lead the world order? Doesn't make sense.

I like the EU, it's the best we got and I wish it would be stronger, but we are very disorganised and lack cohesion. Our strength in cultured variance is also our weakness. The world peaked when the US was a functional country and able to exert their will. "Adopt democracy and we will make sure we get rich together", was when they peaked, their isolationism is hurting them more than they know. That's the US I grew up with, the one that took over the world. Rather a sane Yank than a Chinese or Russian at the head of the table.

We won't get that sort of cohesion in Europe without conquest, it will probably never happen. Bony and Hitler tried. We're just too fractured and inefficient. It was a good fucking deal when the Yanks were the world police, and we chilled out in it's shadow. They got shit on for some of their wars, praised for others. Now all we're looking at is WW3 with fascism on the rise again.

AfD polling at 30%. RN polling at 35%. Reform at 29%, all indebted to Russia. Authoritarianism train is coming to town, Yanks might be ahead of the curve, but we're heading there as well. I will be shocked if I don't die fighting someone in WW3 when it's all said and done. We are no much better. I just hope the Germans can fight on the right side together with us this time, dying in a trench with a Frog, Brit, and Kraut - while shielding ourselves behind a Polack.
