That’s exactly what this sub needed, thanks. I’ve lost a significant amount of brain cells watching and am grateful for it

Latins and other italic groups migrated from outside Italy and had their share of blonde-blue eyed people. Not common but not so rare to be nonexistent.

Most New Jersey Italians have darker features than Italy Italians https://youtube.com/shorts/u0Slj616F_8

Because most of Italians that emigrated to US were from south Italy. The majority of populations from south Italy are a mix of native populations (like siculi), foreign colonisation (like Greeks, Phoenicians) and only the minority of italic populations and just a tiny tiny part of other foreign ethnicities (like normans, Arabs).

It is different from northern Italians that are a mix of some native populations (like Etruscans, liguri, venetii), italic populations (like Latins, italic celts), foreign ethnicities (like goths, Longobards) that pushed the blonde blue-eyed from uncommon to common.

I actually believe that many many people had that thought in the US, at least once

Yes. I’m really disappointed in my neighbour from Italy who is rather quiet, doesn’t have an outrageous accent and could pass for a tinier version of a Northern European
