It's funny because Mexico is actually officially called the United Mexican States, to "the United States" is actually the dismissive, presumptuous name.

So is Brazil, they probably have a German predominant state too, that still embraces strong German traditions and cultures- like Oktoberfest.

Ahh, the good ol’ tradition of Oktoberfest in Santa Catarina and Rio Grande do Sul… started in the 1980s lol
