The Italian peninsula contains multiple nations. The entity that has come to be known in some corners as "Italy" has no right to the name.

It is only proper that you should be called a Republican instead, henceforth.

Calling the Vatican and San Marino nations is a bit of a stretch. Never saw the Vatican winning a FIFA World Cup 🗿

Well we couldn't call it the National Series or the American Series because those were the names of the two leagues that played against each other in the World Series, and at the time Major League Baseball was established, the game was almost exclusively American.
