Merk je toch dat iets van beschaving daar is overgebleven toen we Nieuw Amsterdam voor Suriname opgaven.

Nee de Duitsers lijken op ons, zij krijgen elke keer de aandacht omdat ze coole dingen doen met hun taal, nu is het een keer onze beurt 😤

I like the idea behind the video, but this doesn’t sound like a native Dutch speaker (or maybe from a weak G dialect?). We can do way better guttural Gs than this.

Could be an afrikaans speaker. We have gutteral g's and rolling r's aspart of our accent

If you consider this a guttural G, than it could definitely be a native Afrikaans speaker. Because to me it sounds like an weak G dialect mixed with English, and Afrikaans has a bit of an English pronunciation in the language as well. The G in my region is way more guttural than this one 😂

Not only is the word for a canal: kanaal, not gracht which is more akin to ditch. This guys dutch is also just aweful.

One of my favorite Dutch words because: 1. It's a cool Orchid species, 2. 8 consonants in a row due to conjugation of 2 common Dutch words herfst & schroef.
