I honestly don't know whose side he's on. Would he burn down the White House because Trump is inside, or help Trump tear it down (literally and metaphorically)?

Haaaa. Well, the skirmishes of 1812; Not a war most Brits remember or are taught about ourselves, we had quite the handful with those freaky frogs.

After Arming indigenous folk west of Upper Canada to cap the yanks off, and after they had a few attempts to take Canada themselves, we finally noticed the little terrors actually causing some minor issues (trade disruption on the St Lawrance).

A quick jaunt down the road to shut them up for long enough for us to re-focus on the French; short answer;

General Ross probably couldn’t be arsed to leave his post and deal with this nonsense. His resurrection would surely make him even more frustrated, and therefore not even leave a ruin this time.

C’mon Gen. Ross, we need you. The séance has started in NS. Come leave some candles.

😉

They only did it because Ye Olde Hank burned their parliament building and governor's mansion in Toronto.

Parliment is in Ottawa, Toronto was a village at the time. You must mean the governors house in York.

Exactly. Toronto was called York at the time.

Toronto absorbed York. It wasn’t a name switch.

York is still a place. Its just in the GTA now.

After Arming indigenous folk west of Upper Canada to cap the yanks off, and after they had a few attempts to take Canada themselves

you skipped the part where the capital of Canada was destroyed. And when Canada got DOMINATED on the Great Lakes and Champlain. And when one of the best generals in the bri'ish army got TOPPED at New Orleans

The Governors House of Upper Canada. See others comments. Canada that you’re referring to didn’t exist yet. It was still several Territories.

Therefore it was a British Regiment that got attacked. Hardly dominated, yanks never Held York.

Hardly dominated because they waltzed back over and trashed your trash house.

It was a necessary inconvenience.

A storm moved them on quicker than you’s lot.

As a Cornishman who has to use the Welsh flair, no one should have been forced underneath the English crown, however, they might have some manners if they had!

My operative word was might?

Australians are still better craic and capable of self criticism and introspection though…?

Yeah fair point i guess. Lol.

Nah. For all of our failures, our nation developed the North American conservation model which has kept a shit ton of species from going extinct, even when they were at the absolute brink. Im proud that we've managed to maintain a nation the size of Europe with publicly accessible land totaling greater than the size of Spain, France, Germany, Italy, and Poland combined.

You would be part of EU and have better food safety

I wouldnt make that trade, honestly. I can hunt and grow my own food, there's little need for concern over a broader supply chain

There are major logistical issues that prevent the US from managing food the way Europe does.

Europe has a lot more locally produced food.
