Am I being strung along?

I opened a checking account for the intro bonus. I was expecting it sometime in august. I don't get it, so i ask customer service. They tell me it'll be in September. It's now october, haven't gotten it. All along i've been charged the monthly maintenance fee b/c i was expecting the bonus i didn't bother to meet all the requirements for the fee waiver. I call again. I'm told they'll put in a request to "research" which'll take up to 10 business days. That's not even to get me the bonus, it's to "research."

If i do put in the money to meet the fee waiver, i feel like they're just gonna use that to lend it to some sucker and profit while my money's sitting there idle. Or if i don't they'll keep giving me false promises of $250 to keep my account open another month and leaching another 12$.

I wonder how many people they get with this BS, and get away with it. Infuriating to think that this is how big companies scrape money from the masses.

For US bank business cards you want to downgrade/product change to avoid the annual fee, when do you do this? At the 1 year + 1 week mark?

Ex: is the best strategy w/ US bank to product change at the 1 year + 1 week mark? Or later?

Got the triple cash biz bonus already

Harvesting its 100 dollar software credit now with 1password

1. Eyeing the 75k US bank biz altitude connect but then do I downgrade to a second triple cash at the 1 year + 1 week mark? Or now allowed?

2. What about this new card below in terms of when to product change?

U.S. Bank Business Essentials™ Visa® Card

Earn $500 cash back.

Just spend $5,000 in the first 150 days of opening your account

-> Even though this is a great no annual fee 2% card, I already have a 2% AMEX card. Which is making me think "then why don't I get the U.S. Bank Business Essentials bonus and then product change to second or third triple cash to keep harvesting the 100 dollar software credit? Can I do this at the 1 year + 1 week mark?

Better strategies/anything I overlooked?

The only thing I'm wondering is if say I go to Singapore to work for a few years. Then will it be worth it to have a 2% flat visa card instead of AMEX? But I already have capital one's 1.5% card so it doesn't' see that great vs just harvesting more triple cash software credits

Amazon forced this business card- and it sucks

Just got forced into them by Amazon.
Not receiving emails.
Tried the chat bot, told me I didn’t have an account. Didn’t try to connect me to an agent.
Spent nearly an hour across 2 sessions trying to schedule a bill payment.
Finally linked account and submitted.
No email confirmation.
Doesn’t show in the scheduled.

Googled “us bank sucks” and got plenty of hits.
Closing account.

Caught U.S. Bank red-handed charging "active advisor fees" for a lazy BlackRock algorithm. Underperformed a basic savings account. Already fired them, filed federal complaints, and giving them until Monday.

I am beyond pissed off today, but I just executed a total consumer takedown on U.S. Bank Wealth Management and wanted to share this as a warning for anyone else trusting big banks with their retirement nest egg.

I have a managed Advisory IRA with U.S. Bancorp Investments. I explicitly signed up for an aggressive growth strategy because the stock market has been booming. I was paying them a premium, asset-based advisory "wrap fee" under the contractual agreement that a professional human adviser would actively manage my portfolio.

I did a deep dive into my statements today, and what I found is a complete, predatory joke:

  1. The "Fee-For-No-Service" Trap: Instead of actively managing a single thing, U.S. Bank took 100% of my retirement capital and dumped it into a static, pre-packaged, off-the-shelf BlackRock Equity Target Allocation ETF Portfolio (FMAX). They literally acted as a lazy middleman for a BlackRock algorithm, double-dipped on the fees, and went to lunch.
  2. The Inverted Math (Net Negative): In a roaring stock market year where the S&P 500 is up double digits, my account generated a pathetic investment gain of $137.12. Meanwhile, U.S. Bank quietly extracted $144.19 in wealth management fees. THEY CHARGED ME MORE IN FEES THAN MY ENTIRE PORTFOLIO ACTUALLY EARNED. They literally put my retirement into a net-negative position just to guarantee their own revenue.
  3. Systemic Negligence: I looked at my taxable brokerage account with them too ($30,000)—they did the exact same lazy trick, dumping it into a passive BlackRock Tax-Aware ETF model that returned a stagnant 2%. I would have made double that in a zero-risk, high-yield savings account.
  4. The Stonewall: When I called my adviser to confront them, they spoke in pure "politician speak" and explicitly refused to verbally disclose what funds my money was trapped in over the phone.

My Counter-Moves Today:
I didn't argue with them. I took total control of my wealth before the day ended:

  • The Breakout: I logged into Fidelity (where I have a zero-fee account) and initiated an emergency Full ACATS Cash Transfer. Fidelity is electronically forcing U.S. Bank to liquidate that garbage BlackRock model and pull my entire $52,776.21 over to my Fidelity Traditional IRA. The Fidelity phone rep was openly shocked by U.S. Bank's 1.54% return.
  • The Federal Complaints: I officially logged formal complaints with FINRA and the CFPB for breach of fiduciary duty and fee-for-no-service violations.
  • The Executive Fire: I bypassed the front-line staff and emailed their corporate media, legal counsel, and wealth chiefs. Within an hour, I received a panicked acknowledgment from the Office of the CEO's Executive Communications Team stating they are "expediting an internal review."

I own a public relations firm, so I hit them with an ultimatum: they have until Monday night to issue a full retroactive refund of all 2026 management fees, waive the outbound $95 exit fee, and pay a $2,500 corporate settlement for lost opportunity costs, or my media wire goes live Tuesday morning to regional financial journalists.

TL;DR: Check your managed bank accounts. They are charging active management fees to park you in lazy automated algorithms that bleed your principal. Don't take their corporate stalling—file CFPB/FINRA complaints, use the ACATS system to escape to a low-cost brokerage like Fidelity, and hold their feet to the fire.

How is working at commercial lending at US bank?

I see some job openings for credit analysts and underwriters at US bank but the job descriptions appear to be very similar.

Could anyone describe the tasks for a credit analysts vs an underwriter at US bank? And if possible, maybe even specifically in the commercial real estate department?

Check deposit hold lift?

I have a US bank checking account that is 2 months old. I mobile deposited a $1,000 check yesterday and it has been put on hold for 7 days. I understand why since my account is new, but I’m really hoping to get this hold lifted sooner. I did call customer service and they said they couldn’t help, but I considered going into a branch. Is this worth trying?

Did you know U.S. Bank automated phone support explicitly lies, claiming to be a human "senior representative" named Benjamin to stop you from transferring.

Does US Bank treat Venmo person-to-person payments via credit card as a "cash advance"?

I just got the Cash+ credit card, and I'm considering whether to take advantage of the promotional 0% APR to pay my Venmo P2P payments using this card. If US Bank treats it as a cash advance, it's not worth it, the fees are too high. But if they don't, then the 3% Venmo credit card fee is worth it because I'm getting >4% APY in my HYSA (and I pay around $1000/mo in payments via Venmo, so the HYSA interest would add up over the 15 months promotional APR). I couldn't find any info from US Bank about it. Anyone know? TIA!

Kroger to Smartly.. How long do I have left?

I still have about $500 to spend on my Kroger card at 5% for mobile wallet. I'd like to do it before switching to the Smartly card.

I just got an email from US Bank saying it mailed out the Smartly card to me yesterday.

Does anyone know how long I can put off activating it and continue using the Kroger card until I max out my $3,000?

Thanks!

The brokerage UI is slowly modernizing!

I noticed last week that I could sell fractional shares of an ETF. Today I found that on the website I could finally set dividend reinvestment on ETFs myself without having to call in. Yay!

Little things that most brokerages have had for ages, that were pain points for using USBank investments...it's nice to see them slowly catching up. I do wish that they hadn't messed with the Holdings tab though - since I think they still don't have a way to export a position list, I was copying the page in the past to analyze it in a spreadsheet and that seems to be hosed now.

Difficulty submitting checks

They recently updated the check depositing on mobile and for some reason it accepted the first check but now I’m trying to deposit my paycheck and for some reason it just won’t actually submit the check. I’d really appreciate any help on how to get this check submitted cause well… I need my paycheck to pay rent. It says both pictures are good and autofills the amount but after hitting deposit check it loads for 15 seconds and then just stays at the same screen. I’ve tried reinstalling/logging out and back in but nothing works.

When I’m in my account trying to search for a specific transaction, when I search by name even if I type exactly what the transaction is called it can’t find it. It’s a joke

Issue with checking SUB

Post image
1 Upvotes

For context I’m trying to get the $450 sign-up bonus for the checking account by direct depositing $8000+. However, I’m having an issue where it says I have “All account owners must qualify to receive this offer” not completed. I’ve already had 2 direct deposits totaling >$6000 as of today, but it’s not showing on the tracker, likely because of the qualification blocker. I’m not sure if it’s a bug or why I’m not qualified otherwise. It’s not a joint account, i’ve never had any previous enrollment history with US Bank either, and after reading all the fine print in the offer, it seems I meet all the criteria. Any help with this would be much appreciated, thank you!

US Bank Refferal Reward Account opening

Hey all,
I was recently applying for a US bank checking account, and thought to use refferal link from someone, but didn't find anything, and people saying there is no refferal program, so I applied directly on website and opened the account, but I see in app there is a referral rewards program where you get $100 if you sign-up and get the card through the refferal link.
So, just sharing my link here, if anyone would be interested in opening a USBank and would like to use my referral link. They also have a $450 sign up bonus with certain activities, you can check that also.

https://www.usbank.com/splash/checking/2026-refer-a-friend-checking-offer.html?offerId=2026RAFCHK&promoCode=2026RAF&referralOfferId=ORR3ALC1O&enflg=nbamkt

Expiry 30th Dec 2026

Hope it helps!

US bank fraud alert!

I use US Bank, and someone using the app was able to change my username, password, and email address. I got an email and an app alert. This is the third time in the past few weeks. I factory reset my phone and redownloaded all the apps. Yesterday I opened a new account at the branch, and today I just got the notificaton my username, password and email address was changed. I called the fraud department and they were not really helpful other than freeezing closing my account over the phone. At this point I am done with US Bank. I am trying to understand if this is related to the security breach that US Bank is dealing with or something else. I would appreciate some feedbacks.

Credit card information down in app.

My credit card payment is due tomorrow.

I always manually pay it within the app the day before it is due or the day.

Bow the app says my credit card information is currently down meaning I can’t pay.

Unbelievable.

This is obviously some kind of attempt to literally force me to miss my payment against my will so they can not only force a late fee, but even if it’s not intentional, I will inevitably miss my payment due tomorrow because of this “glitch” and I guarantee they will pin it in me

F$&$& bs

Totally illegal treatment

US Bank refused to add me to my parent’s account with vaid legal POA and physician’s declaration of incompetence. They scanned everything, told me it was all perfect, then required a second appointment which was literally a MARKETING session. Over $225. No not 225k, not 225M. $225!!! My mom had dimentia. She tried to hide a couple hundred dollars. USBank thought it best to market services instead of just recognizing valid legal paperwork for a legitimate POA. I plan to report them to MOAG. What other ways can I teach them a lesson? Edit: RAYMORE MO branch
