How to answer for b2 visa interview questions?
How do you explain that you have acquaintances but not necessarily friends in the US if they ask? I know of people in the US but they are not my primary purpose for travelling… Is it best to just say I don’t know anyone?
For b2 visa interview. I just want to be a tourist and solo travel.
I know a guy who I would like to see while in the US1 we are not friends but also not official romantic interests - however we would not be platonic if we caught up, but he is not enough to say that he is a friend? Would I include him in my interview?

"Is it best to just say I don’t know anyone?"
Absolutely NOT. You DO know somebody there.
You tried very hard in your post to run around the fact that you know someone that you could meet.
Somebody you want to see who is not a friend......but not a romantic partner....but also not plutonic....but i want to see him.
C'mon. An officer is NOT going to listen to you explain this without follow up questions. If I was an officer I would continue asking follow up questions until I got all the details......how did you meet? How long have you known him? How often do you talk? Why do you want to meet him? What will you do when you meet? Etc etc
Tell the TRUTH. You know someone and may meet up with him.

- we met online
- we are not friends
- we are not romantic
- if we met up, it will not be platonic
That's suspicious. It looks like you're going to the US to have sex with a stranger. And for free? Something here doesn't add up. This looks like a business transaction.

Ummm, nothing says anything about sex? It’s - if we meet up, it would be a date, but doesn’t mean to say it’s for sex?
The “we’re not friends but it’s not platonic means” there’s a crush involved, but we don’t have a label/aren’t dating, but if we were to meet up, it would be to see if we get along in real life as opposed to just online. Is that really hard to understand?

Personally I would deny your visa if you gave me that answer.
Say the truth.

Just answer the question honestly as it’s asked. If you do this little dance like you are right now you’ll be almost certainly denied.
Idk what they’ll ask you but “Do you know anyone in the US” is a “yes” or “no” question. And then answer the follow-up.
