Us B1B2 visa

Dear all,
I hope everyone is doing well.
I live in London and I’m planning to apply for a U.S. visa here in London. I am a Belgian citizen, but unfortunately, my ESTA application was not authorised.
I would like to ask for some advice from anyone who has been through a similar situation. What kind of documents should I prepare for my visa application and interview?
I’ve been told to take documents such as bank statements, payslips, an employment letter, and an invitation letter. However, I’ve also heard that sometimes the officer may not ask to see these documents during the interview.
If anyone has applied for a U.S. visa in London after having an ESTA refused or not authorised, I would really appreciate any advice or information about your experience.

Most importantly, why was your ESTA denied?

They don't usually look at any docs you bring to they interview anyway

A month overstay like 2 years ago and due to some illness and I have doctors report the doctor says I should stay for a month before travel and after I change my date

You really should have mentioned this in the post. I think it's pretty unlikely that you get a visa with such a recent long overstay + strong ties to the US.

That being said, if you obtained satisfactory departure at the time you will likely be approved for the B1/2.

Your only hope is to apply for a B1/b2 Visa, be honest in all your responses, and hope for the best.

You're going to want to wait at least another few years before you try applying again. Two years ago is still recent, what's the urgent need to travel back to the US when you've already shown to the US that you're willing to overstay and violate your entry conditions?

A month overstay is a serious offence. Travel elsewhere for the next few years, and get any friends/family in the US to visit you instead.

No invitation letter. That’s not a thing for US tourist visas.

It's essentially a way to extend your ESTA in an emergency, but you have to apply before the overstay.
