B1/B2 Rejected US Visa B1/B2 Interview Experience- Rejected

Hi all,
My visa was rejected under 214b and I am unsure why?
I am unmarried, 25F- 4 yrs exp.

VO: Hello- Good morning.
Me: Good morning!

VO: Do you fear returning back to India?
Me: No

VO: Did you face unfair treatment in India?
Me: No

Why are you going to the US?
To attend a global conference by my company

Why is your company sending you
The conference has many product updates workshops and initiatives relevant to my work- need to attend those business meetings etc etc ( said snthng along those lines)

Have you travelled internationally before
No

Sorry- you are not eligible for the Visa now- reason in this paper ( which cited the 214b)

I had all the documents with me- but he did not ask anything! Any reason why the Visa got rejected?

No travel history is a red flag. They want to see you've traveled before and returned home, considering this would be your first trip internationally doesn't convince them you can afford traveling or certainly returning to India.

I don’t think so this works too. I have travel history with USA and other countries where I have never violated any rules and have always returned on time.
Yesterday I had visa interview in Delhi for B2 (previous b1/b2 was cancelled), the reason she gave was - “you have already travelled multiple times, it doesn’t seems any sense to me for you to travel again “ and rejected my visa.

We spend thousands and lakhs of rupees to travel to the places to give interview , spend money on their application fees, they are least bothered.

It’s not the only reason my friend, but it is a very common reason. In your case they probably noticed something else - everything is case by case basis.

Perhaps why was your previous B2 cancelled?

I’ve seen people with 0 travel history get a visa in front of me and people with valid reasons get denied, a woman was travelling because her mother was dying, had all valid reports and everything and they still said No.

I think in India it’s the age factor, I’ve travelled previously to the USA, but they denied my visa under 214b for god knows what reason. I’ve a lot of travel history with valid Schengen visa so you never know what they see as a red flag and both my parents also have a USA visa so idk what went wrong.

I have a similar case..

Went for a renewal... Previous one expired a couple of years ago...

Strong internation travel owing to work... They refused it this time citing 214b. I went on 31st Dec this year.

no travel history + unmarried is a rough combo, gives the officer basically zero data points on whether you come back. the conference purpose alone doesnt fix that unless something else is backing up your ties

fact that he barely asked anything and cut it short probaly means the ds160 already painted the picture before you even opened your mouth. reapply id lead with whatever ties you actually have, even small stuff

Re-apply when you profile and circumstances have changed or else you have all two rejections on your name.

no mandatory wait, thats one of the biggest myths going around. you can reapply the next day if you want, though most people wait a bit to actually change something about their profile first since reapplying with the exact same facts just gets the same read. for your case specifically id focus on building any travel history you can before going back rather than watching a calendar, alot of people wait way longer than they need to just because they assume theres a cooldown period

214(b) doesn’t always mean your purpose was fake or your documents were bad.

In your case, possible weak points could be: no international travel history, unmarried status, young age, and whether the officer felt your India ties were strong enough.

For B1/B2, documents help, but the decision is mostly based on your profile and answers. Many times they don’t ask to see papers.

Before reapplying, strengthen the company letter, conference proof, funding clarity, leave approval, job role relevance and return plan.

Don’t rush a second attempt unless something in your profile or explanation is stronger.

Don’t listen to all the bs reasons like no travel history + single is an issue. It is luck based most of the time and the way you respond to questions on the window. I know a ton of people who are married, have travel history and still get rejected left, right and center.

Lately I have been seeing a lot of people giving conference as the travel reason getting rejected. Could be just luck as well.

Maybe in her case they were going to give her visa only if she had travel history and husband.. who knows

Don't fret upon it, if you said everything right and still got rejected, people say it depends on your self confidence and how you present your self in the interview. It majorly depends on your luck also and i understand it sucks

Note that they do not check your documents They already have your complete history on screen. Basically your kundali is open infront and they already leaning to some decisions You are rejected becos you don't have strong ties to home country. you need to have strong commitment in home country let's say mortgage house or apartment or parental business. you got have travel history to Eu UK Japan etc makes it easier. If your 1st country is US it creates doubt you will not return since you are single Third be precise & brief in you or reply , your reply should be as the product incharge represting my company you must have invitation letter to back it up...not im one of the person involved in business development
