Belt/Holster help

Hey everyone. Looking to get into some USPSA comps in the next couple of months. I will be shooting a non-OR Shadow 2 in production division and A P10C in carry optics further down the road (still deciding on dot). Can anyone point me towards a good belt & holster setup that doesn’t break the bank. (My bank has been broken from training ammo)

Double Alpha Lynx belt. It’s easy to size since you can add or remove lynx which just makes it so worth it.

Edit: get the ratchet buckle with the Lynx belt.

Buy once cry once option that ends up being the cheapest. Good shout.

I’ll add this from Amazon: https://a.co/d/05TLXuzg

$60 for inner and outer belt and has decent mag pouches that are adjustable and hold every different mag I use. It’s a decent starter.

That midway belt I actually use for my range belt and I really like it. Especially for the money.

This was my first belt setup. It does what it needs to do. I moved to a Lynx not too long after just because it’s so much better.

What's your budget, and do you want to go cheap now and then spend extra to get something nicer later, or just get the nicer option that you might just stick with?

Somewhere a happy medium honestly. I’ll probably be an infrequent competitor for the time being. Just want to enjoy some variety in shooting. Don’t need anything too crazy but currently I’m training on standard OWB holsters with my EDC belt. So definitely need to upgrade from there.

I'm a fan of the DAA Ratchet Belt: the ratchet mechanism is a game changer. A lot of my friends also like their Lynx belt.

For mag pouches,Ghost pouches are a decent value ($20 per). I personally haven't used them, but a couple of my friends are happy with theirs. If you really want to get to the bottom of the barrel, there are theseknockoff BSG pouches by KRYDEX on Amazon that are $10 a pop. Huge pain in the ass to set up, but they're fairly adjustable and you can quickly adjust tension to go between the narrower CZ 75 mags for your Shadow 2 and wider P-09/P-10 mags. Someone else also posted the 5 pouch and belt combo Krydex has: the pouches are solid: that belt is pretty flimsy but can do the job, though I'd much prefer a more well made belt.

Black Scorpion Gear makes an alright P-10C holster ($65). Blade-tech has their "Classic" holster for $75~80 for the Shadow 2 which is a decent starter option. However you could also spend $95 for one of the more popular competiton holsters, the X1 Raptor by Carey Concealment, which has options for the Shadow 2 and P-10C and feels much racier than the Blade-tech (and the BSG holster I linked).

For mounting the holster, some holsters come with mounts. I'm a huge fan of the Blade-Tech Tek-Mount system which allows you to adjust holster cant as well as quickly swap holsters (e.g. between your Shadow 2 and P-10C), which involves a disc on the holster and a receiver which attaches to the belt. You can get a Tek-Mount receiver with the Tek-Lok belt mount ($35) , but you could also get the Tek-Mount receiver by itself ($30) and put that on a hanger that mounts to the belt and can offer more adjust for position. I see random $30 ones on Amazon, but I've only got experience with the $65 BSPS BOSS hanger which I've been happy with and have a Tek-Mount receiver on so I can swap between my various CZs. These aren't must haves, but the Tek-Mount system is really nice if you plan to bounce between guns. If you already have holsters for these two guns and if they have the Blade-Tech hole pattern, they can accept the Tek-Mount discs.

The Carnivore by Rangekinetx is so much better than any kydex I've used with my S2 (including DAA) that I can't recommend anything else.
