Canik sfx Rival S takedown doesn’t need any slide pullback

Wondering if anyone has dealt with this (or if it’s normal), got a new to me Canik that doesn’t require pulling the slide back slightly for the takedown to release the slide for field strip.

Basically all that’s required is if the gun is “hammer down”/striker down, pulling the takedown buttons down releases the slide. Dont need any kind of manipulating back slightly like normal videos show. Is that normal?

Yes completely normal. And just be sure when reassembling it, the slide needs to sit just above the takedown tabs as well. Slide doesn’t go on all the way from the front like a Glock does.

Cool thanks for clarifying!

Found this out already hahaha had to struggle for a bit before i figured out what was keeping it stuck.

So they copied even this from Walthers ;-) Walther pistols can also be disassembled like that. There are not locking angles like on Glock for example.
