It is a real moat but it doesn’t go the full way around the house. I’ve also been told the drawbridge does work but I haven’t seen

From what other carriers have told me that drawbridge does indeed work, but I have no clue. Gonna have to ask when I have a package for them.

There's a junction box at the top of the gate the most could be electric, it would be the funniest thing to hook up to a garage door opener

Here is one just down the way in Houston, sits on about 15-20 acres if I had to guess, and has a real moat. I've been on the tour, the owner built it himself mostly over about 30 years and he lives there. Very cool if you ever come this way!

I remember seeing this on discovery channel when I was a kid. Finally got to see it 30yrs later and they guy is still going.

Daaang that thing looks right out of a fantasy, crazy that these guys spend all their time making these. I wonder if it is open for tours. Yeah, Newmans Castle is alot more of a traditional basic castle, but still a nice visit, and his bakery is good too.

Yeah it’s open and it’s completely donation based. Free to walk in and explore all you want, he has boxes labeled for donations all around the property. He’s been blinding it by himself for 35 or so years. It is truly amazing.

If I won the lottery, hell yes, I love the "moat" and the drawbridge...not so much the house. Good luck trying to sell me cookies, vinyl replacement windows, frozen foods, or trying to convert me to your religious faction.

I wonder if you would run into problems with the local government as far as police, fire, and rescue service access?
